Opinions on the new G
I know these are spy pictures but this is the new G. You can just make it out under the disguise. Now I think it's lost a great deal of character more of a giant M-class than a G. I'm I alone on this theory. I also worry that the mercedes of yesteryear producing realible well built automobiles will be lost in the motoring achieves as the current G is the last of a dying breed of old school Benz's

Thats not a G class it is a tarted up ML with G badges on it. A real G class is at home off road in third world countries, carrying troops, along with Toyota Land cruisers, Humvee's, and Land Rovers.
The new "G" is in the same group as Hummer H2's, they are all about the looks. They are ment to role around LA and NJ on chrome 20in wheels. Take one to Africa to run to a remote village and it doesn't quite work.
The G55 is the last and one of the best old style MB's made.

MBWorld Fanatic!
If i move to Iraq or Africa and need a tank, ill consider a battlewagon. But for the time being, ill take a practical new G with some creature comforts. I have a feeling the majority of the population feels the same way. Maybe the beancounters at MB know just a tad more about who will buy their trucks than we do. We shall see.
