12.9 @104mph!!

..........it has taken me a while and a lot of trouble to get my car back to form after the dreaded recall. For those that have had no issues, you don't know how lucky you are. Anyway, I ran a 12.9 @104mph with 1.918 60ft time at Atlanta dragway which is at higher elevation than Silverdollar raceway, where I previously ran my last 12.9 before the recall. Happy the beast is back.

I'm out of the G55 game.
The cracking Kleemann Headers (right after their 1 year warranty) and the need to replace them twice(!),forced to drive boring loaners since the G was always in service ,finally did it.
Traded for RR Sport SC and the SL...

............too bad. I understand how you feel. My Kleemann headers did crack too and were replaced. I knew no one else with a G55 and Kleemann headers to compare notes with. Very glad you brought this up. I noticed that the design of the Kleeamann headers for the G55 is dramatically different from the W211 E55 Kleemann Headers. The Kleemann G55 headers are small, but the down pipes are huge. It seems the small headers are unable to handle the thrust of air from the G55's engine. I have often wondered if this is why the G55 ones crack. Is it possible to make the W211 E55 headers fit the G55? Apart from this and the entire re-call fiasco, I have had good luck with mine and haven't had it in the shop except for performance mods.

..........Thanks. Bought new ECU, but the unit had to be SCN coded. Once it was SCN coded by the dealer, all the MB specified aftermarket restrictions went in. Car drove well, no stalling, but couldn't spin tires. Took new ECu off and went back to old one. Had entire program srased including the MB flash. Then had my original Program reloaded without the MB flash. Then had K2/K4 program insstalled. Major major hassle.

Might pick up a S65 by then as well, if so, then it might make an appearance....

First off, good to hear that you got the problem solved. I did not know that it was possible to erase the MB flash program. That is good to hear. I have had the flash, I guess (I did have the air pump recall performed), and my car seems to run as well as it ever has. I did not have my original program copied by one of the tuners before the flash, so I am guessing that if I go with Kleemann I might have a problem with no way to fix it. So, what do you think I should do, not worry and investigate K2 possibilities, go with RENNtech, of forget about it? Thanks. I am getting the itch for a faster ride and I am now in the shopping and thinking about it phase.

LOL, I thought you answered your own question, but Maybe you want to at least look into RENNTech.

..........If your can runs well, you maybe fine. Just dyno your car and look for a/f ratio issues. I know a lot ofpeople have run their car on the track post dyno and think all is well. Probably so, but your car may even post better times if it is running lean post flash. As to Kleemann vs Renntech, I think kleemann guys are much more user friendly. Call Cory and he'll take care of things. As I understand it, it is possible go back to youir original software version even if you already have the flash. They may have stored in their data somewhere various original software versions of which yours could be one.
