Saw this '03 G55, 118k miles on ebay, what do you feel is a good price for this vehicle. They seem pretty strict on $38.5. Do you feel the miles something to worry about?

.........you probably know this, but that is the NA engine with 350HP. Add to it the 118K miles, I don't think it is that much of a great deal at almost $40K.

What would be a good price for this vehicle, Ebay history shows lower mileage examples going for only marginally more. The car belongs to a Mercedes dealer, and they probably hosed the guy on the trade-in. I assume they don't want this thing on their lot with kind of miles. It was supposed to go through Manheim a few days ago, but I think there was much action on it. This particular truck at hand what would you pay for it? KBB is pretty much useless. I know if buy I would most likely be the last owner...

Also how does the G55 350hp move, I mean is power pretty good?

I honestly do not recommend buying a g55 with 120k. You asking for trouble that will cost you money. I recommend you put more money and get a g55 with lower mileage or a g500. For 38,500, you can get a great g500 with low miles and less headaches.

Avoid this car like the plague. 120k is way too many miles for $40k. Anyways, it has barely any more power than the 500 so get yourself an 02G500 with 35,000milesfor the same price and you'll be laughing.

thanks for the replies, i'll watch it on ebay and see what it does..would you even consider it in the low 30's? the real scare on it would be the tranny and the diffs, i know the engine is rock solid. its hard not to like it, but at that price it is way high, surely these guys don't want this sitting at their dealership, with new G's on the lot.

Whats so wierd? Why would you spend $40k and get a car with a 100 plus miles. I rather get another car with lower mileage.

I wouldn't buy any car with that many miles used, let alone a gasoline engine g-wagen from the years when they had electrical problems, not that they don't still have their quirks, but that's asking for trouble.

They called me yesterday to tell me they lowered the reserve from $38.5 to $38. I told them $28.5 or don't bother calling me back. I don't know what is so special about this vehicle to them, they must have it on the showroom floor the way they are in love with it. I agree the market is very dead for a high mileage G, but I figured I would buy it for that. Oh well I guess time to move on, thanks for the help...

..............They are not as stupid as they potray themselves to be. They know the market and presumeably can read and have acess to blue book values. Those blue book values have not yet been classified as state secrets by Dick Cheney. The dealer just saw you interested and thought they could get over on you.
