ANyone knows when we can expect the first wave of G55 and G500s to hit the US dealerships?

Production starts in September and the first public display will be at the Frankfurt auto show. I'm guessing first US deliveries will be in the December timeframe.

Dear Merc experts...
I have just newly joined the MB World Discussion Forum, so I feel a little lost. I have a few cars and really love my Mercedes. Lately, I have just ordered a -G55 2009, fully loaded - but I am no longer sure if its the right time to buy a G Wagon. I hear that the model might be replaced... and that they might bring out a new G63 or G65 starting 2010. Perhaps even with a new body shape. So it would make sense to wait. Is there any truth to these rumors?? Please let me know. Looking forward to hear some expert advice from those in the know..

From what I know, the current body will continue production through 2010. If a next generation G-Class was in the works, we would start hearing about it and seeing prototypes at least 2-3 full years before it comes on the market.

Having said that, for the past almost 10 years there have been updates made to the G-Class with every new model year. New changes for 2010, including engines, are a distinct possibility. Having said that, I have a 2009 G55 scheduled for delivery in June.
