I Drive AMG
just got my 08 G55, few questions
I know its a G wagon, but damn the ride is stiff!!!
Has anyone thought about going up to 285/60 18's vs the 285/55 18?
Anything I can do about the shocks?
Also does anyone make any exterior upgrades?

Do you have adjustable airmatic suspension on that G wagen? Brabus I know makes a great body kit for your G. Congrats on it !

The answer is NO! Airmatic is not an option on the G-class, but that being said I currently drive a2002 G500, along with a 2003 G55 AMG, and some friends of mine also drive a 2004 G55 and much to his wifes shagrin, the complaint was "too stiff". So why did you purchase an AMG then?
Anyhoooo, the point is that you can put some resolve to your question and you'll have to pay the dealer to remove the AMG SHOCKS & COILS and replace with the G500 SHOCKS & COILS, and my friends wife was much happier and away she went with an AMG G-class with Toyota Avalon ride-comfort.
I would check with your local MB dealer in the USA, as I'm in Canada and I know the G500 has springs and coils that will fit an AMG G55, but then again thats for an 2004. You've got the Komp.....well, cheers mate and welcome to the KLEENEX-BOX family.

Swapping the suspension components from the G500/550 is a quick, easy, and safe way of softening the ride of your G55 and it also won't impact your warranty.

I picked it up on Friday, and all I can say is WOW!!! Everything I expected, great power off the line and the exhaust sounds extremely aggressive.
