Why am I getting all sorts of different horsepower figures on this car? Diffferent websites have different figures.. I dont have tha ctual window sticker to see... Just purchased one sight un-seen and have not seen the actual original window sticker...

I have seen the following:

* 469 HP
* 489 HP
* 496 HP
* 479 HP

I know the 2010's are 500 HP right??

Can someone who actually knows the correct HP figure help me?

Thanks guys and I wil post my new G55 today.. Its a Renntech Stage 4... I just need to know the actual factory HP #..

It's so crazy that there are so many different hp figures on this car in different places you look?

Is the 2010 493hp or 500hp?

So, would the 580hp figure be correct on a Renntech Stage 4 2008 G55? Anyone have any expereince with a Renntech G55?

2005 G55 : 469 hp
2006 G55 : 476 hp
2007 G55 : 476 hp
2008 G55 : 493 hp
2009 G55 : 493 hp
2010 G55 : 500 hp

Yeah for a 2008 Renntech P4 you are about 580 give or take depending on altitude, octane, and other variables. Get really crazy and get the crankshaft mod, will add 25-35 hp at the wheels. BTW, your entire setup will be void if your intercoolers dont do its job. Upgrade your intercoolers.

Renntech is pretty accurate with his figures since he was a former AMG guy.

Ok.. So, now I am REALLY confused! It is 493hp like I thought? What about the guy above who states it only 469hp? Does anyone have their orginal window sticker from their 08 G55 that shows the HP #'s on it from the factory?

Who can 100% Confirm this figure for me?

Your 2008 Mercedes G55 has 493 hp stock from the factory.. Why are you listening to a guy that drives a Tahoe?

YOU HAVE 493HP stock from your motor.

2010 G's are actually 507hp. You can call Mercedes and order the sticker details from them if you want. You have to prove ownership, but you will get the info you are looking for.

Ok, confirmed what I thought...

Perfect - Now on to adding some extra Horsepower on top of the 580hp the Renntech Stage 4 G55 is already making.. The car wont be here for at least another 10-14 days... The tuner that has done all of my Mercedes & Renntech work on my other cars is directly accross the street from my office, way to easy to spend $$$

My apologies for stating incorrect info, but just b/c I drive a Tahoe does not mean I don't know what I am talking about. I am sure you were able to regurgitate that HP figure right off the top of your head. Congrats, you got an answer right.

As for the Renntech extras, your best suited to look on Renntech's website to ascertain that information.

I am firmly convinced that MB published figures in accordance with the car, after consulting with the marketing department. Basically, in our experience the 55K engines are pretty uniform throughout the line, no matter what car it is in.

btw..... judging from your collection of iron and location, have you attended
our monthly Cars & Coffee at Gainey Ranch? There is a Bull Run coming up as well.

Yup, have been a few times with several of my cars in the past.. I owned the White Superleggera most recently and Renntech CL65, Blacked-out Murci, Porsches, ect...

09 is also around 500, i think its 507 precisely. Nothing changed performance wise between the 09's and the 10's.. Definitely Post up some videos when they are done with your car

FWIW, I owned a 2005 G55 so according to the chart above I 'only' had 469 hp. Let me tell you, that is plenty. Never will you feel like the machine is slow. The torque is insane, and the sound is NUCKIN FUTS! Oh my God the sound!!Total addiction. Fine, it's not a "drivers" car but hey you gotta love it for what it is: an all out assault vehicle. Forget the Renntech stuff. Invest in a 50cal mounted machine gun!

Yup.. Traded it in a few weeks ago on another Bentley GT. Just picked up the Renntech G55 last week and getting a CLK63 Black Series or a SL65 & will mod them... In a Horsepower mood instead of the "exotic" feel currently... Will go back to the exotics soon enough I am sure...

I thought I recognized that Lambo! How do you like that CGT? That is one of our favorite cars to tune. It is a very tunable engine.

I have been going back and forth between a SL and a CS.... and I can't decide!
