2011 G55 AMG Arabia 100 Limited Edition
Mercedes-Benz Middle East & Levant launched a new special edition G55 at the Qatar Motor Show in Doha two weeks ago:
G-Wagon lovers rejoice! A new special edition model is heading your way. In honor of being the fourth largest market for G-class sales worldwide and the largest market in the world for sales of the G55 AMG, We have released the G55 Arabia 100 Limited Edition at the Qatar Motor Show.
The G55 Arabia 100 Limited Edition 2011 is designed specifically for the Middle East region. Just 100 units of the special edition will be made. Each will be offered in one of two special exterior colours: Cashmere White and Nightblack. The exterior of the car also gets special matt-finish 19-inch AMG alloys.
Inside, there is a two-tone black and porcelain leather interior with carbonfibre and champagne white Designo piano lacquer wood trim. A special rear entertainment system is also included.

Not even close. I dont like that white/black combo... And the interior is even worse.
I wonder if/when they will announce the new twin turbo engine. Im waiting for that one to trade my 2009 for. Depreciation on these cars can be pretty harsh. Thats why im glad ive already had mine for 2 years. Maybe a year from now, i can do the trade and the loss would have been more or less justified after 3 years of driving and ownership.

This special edition will be available in Canada starting in Sept as a 2012 model. It is called the G550 Edition Select. Will come in three colors: mystic white, palladium silver and obsidian black.

I noticed the 2012 has the 7 speed gtronic is this new on the G550/500 or was it there on previous models?
Does that mean the 55 will be next in line? I just just got the 2011 and im loving the high revs but feel the new gearbox on 55 will be much smoother on the highway.
