Squeaking noises

What do you guys use in order to get rid of the squeakiness throughout the car(especially the trunk hinge). My dealer usually does it for me but its getting to a point where it needs to be lubed up every so often.

Any suggestions?

Like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound but glad its workin for ya. Silicon sprays work best on the rubber seals, (not the only culprit on the rear door issue) plastics and minor interior squeaks but no where near dense enough to do a proper job on metal to metal latches and strikers, (the main rear door issue) for any length of time. I'm trying to locate a post from another site with detailed pics of the process and lube points. I'll post the link when I'm able to locate it.

great! Thanks for the info! I assumed that the Silicone Paste from MB is similar in effect, and only different in delivery medium. I what way is the MB silicone paste better than a "band-aid" silicone spray? Last time I had to use my spray was almost two years ago, how long does the paste work???

The biggest culprit for all the squeakiness is the little, white-plastic covered hole on the rear door frame (side of the hinges). That little hole, located on the upper side of the frame, can make it sound like the whole rear is full of rattles. All you need to do is put some silicone grease in that hole and you will be shocked at how quiet your interior becomes! Enjoy!

Hi everyone, is there an updated or refreshed link for the pics? I've got the worlds noisiest 2003 G500 and want to work some of it out. Does the link or anyone have a source for the drivers side b-pillar? (the pillar between the back and front doors)

Z

I use a teflon white lithium grease.
Keep the hinges, lock assemblies and door strikers lubricated.
Spray for the hinges and paste for the other bits.

Also, the sources of these squeaks can be deceiving. Where you may think it's coming from one part of the rear door, it may actually be coming from the opposite side. There may be squeaks also from old rear door panel tabs that are loose.

What I did to locate and isolate the unbearable squeaking was to get in the back myself and ask someone to drive for me. I was able to isolate where all the squeaks were coming from and use the methods mentioned above to take care of the noise. Now I have zero squeaks in the car. Just a rattle left from the third brake light housing that I'll need to get to soon.
