Kleemann 2003 G55 Project - S/C!!
Main Drive belt is on. Fuel System mods are in:

Airboxes installed today:

Test fitting of engine cover:

Few things left to do:
Run air lines, cooling lines, install air pump and relays

G55k:

Kleemann V8 (lifted from internet)
Talk about frustrating. So I have a few parts missing in the kit. Hopefully the guys at the big K respond quickly. Unfortunately, the soonest I'll have the parts at my door step will be next Wednesday or Thursday; being that I'm about 4,000 miles away from CO. Another week down......
Here's a list of the missing parts:
1.) Plastic t-piece connection

2.) One way valve

3.) kleemann extension arms (that mount to the rubber mounts)

4.) 2 large air hoses into y-connector (attaches to maf from airboxes)

On top of this (pun intended), the engine cover that connects to the airboxes looks like it needs to be modified (meaning I have to cut a chunk out of it for it to fit).

I didn't realize so many modifications had to be done to the existing parts to fit this kit on. It is by no means a direct fit kit. Aaaaaahhhhhhh. Just frustrated. Sorry for venting but that's where I am now.
Time count...... 3 weeks 4 days.

Recently i bought a new oil cooler with hoses from SLK55.....

ZAYED,,
I wonder if this will fit mine. It would definitely make more space for the engine cover. I've seen a CLK500 with that oil cooler and just a little bit cut out from the engine cover.
Here's Kevwood's link with the cutout:

did you customize it..?, or you bought the car with it......??
ZAYED,,
All the G55's before 2005 (pre G55k) use this oil cooler that I have. It came this way from the factory.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

The G55 2003-2005 comes with this type of oil cooler(like yours),, but the MB replaced it to the one from E55K/SL55K/CL55K from August 2005......
ZAYED,,
Yes correct. I wanna look into fitting that newer oil cooler however. Looks neater. Mine looks messy.

(between the filter housing & the water cooler)......!!

it well mixing oil with water...
.!!, like Exactly the idea of the Trans. cooler in the Radiator...
,, what do you think.....??

Quick update. I decided to work remotely from the shop so I could check on the install status.
Save for the missing items (Y-connector from air boxes to throttle body and T-Connector for coolant bleeder hose to supercharger bleeder hose), everything is in installed and place. Fuel Pump, Fuel regulator, Water pump, Secondary air pump installed. Supercharger in place. All the relays wired into the fusebox (Fuel Pump, air pump, Water pump).
Minor things left to do:
Install T-connector (Need to wait a week til it gets here!)
Install Y-connector and hoses (Need to wait a week til it gets here!)
Install Kleemann Resistor
Cut away plastic from the engine cover to fit around the oil cooler
Change coolant bleeder hoses to new ones
Change engine mounts
Change tranny mounts
Fit cooling hoses.
Fill cooling system with coolant/water
Problem is I have to wait a week til the T-connector and Y-connector arrive!!! At least this gives me another week to check every single connection over and over just to be sure.
I've heard too many horror stories of messed up installs. I don't want that to be the case here.
No new pics other than actual connections. I don't wanna bore anyone...

So the magic number is 550ohms. Apparently the Kleemann resistor is a variable resistor 0-1000ohms. I need 550ohms. I was able to find a fixed resistor at an electronics store and according to Cory, it works perfectly fine; sometimes even better than the kleemann one so that's what I'm going with.
More updates to come.
Just waiting on the T-Connector for the cooling bleed hoses and the Intake Y-connector for the airboxes.
The Resistor went on today. All relays are hooked up. A few more fittings were machined to run the cooling hoses nicely. Those go on tomorrow. Engine cover will be trimmed to fit around the oil cooler tomorrow as well.
I designed a pretty unique kleemann logo scheme. Something I haven't seen yet. I think it'll be understated yet still make a statement; if that even makes sense. Pictures up soon. A little mental preview........ On a G55, think V8 Kompressor. Now imagine, V8 KLEEMANN!! Also, that little red carat Kleemann logo costs a pretty penny but I think it'll look perfect when I'm all done.
Can't wait to start her up!!!

Meanwhile, the wheels are on and looking Good!!!
Left to do are reinstall grill, headlight housings, underbumper bar, and skid plate. Looks like we do a test start up tomorrow first thing.

Hope she starts up tomorrow!!!
