Some issues with G63
Ive had a couple of lights go on since Ive had the vehicle. Several check engine lights due to a fuel sensor and an ESP defective light. They replaced the fuel sensor and they had to reboot the transfer case to deal with the ESP light. Vehicle has under 1900 miles.
Anyone else having minor issues? I guess it goes in hand with a first year of a face lift.
The other interesting thing is that when I took it in for the 2k differential oil change that I was originally told was necessary, they told me after 2 days of research that it wasnt needed for the G63. It is a limited slip differential oil change for AMG vehicles and the G63 doesnt have a limited slip diff. So I guess disregard the sticker on the windshield and anyone who tells you that is required.

G550 and SL55 and Defender 90 and 1973 Bronco
I have a G550 2009 and the same issue with the check engine light. Brought it in several time changed the fuel sensor and some other srtuff but never resolved. It only comes when I get a full tank of gas and goes off after I burn off a little gas. 50,000 miles and just ordered the G63. Best truck I ever had by far.

I had the ESP light come on which also resulted in cruise control (DISTRONIC PLUS and SPEEDTRONIC) also failing. Switching off the car resolved that and so far that's the only problem I've had in about 1,000 miles.

A quite common problem with early model G500 and G55's. Surprised it's still there!

3k miles, only issue so far was a faulty sunroof belt. Hopefully nothing too major to follow. I'll never forget how many days my first G (model year 2002) spent in the shop!

Have any of you guys exposed your new 2013 G Wagens to rain yet? Two brand new 2013 G550s have been at my local dealer because of a roof leak. One, I think was sold, while the other was fresh off the boat. Just curious what your experience with that is.

Believe it or not, my G63 has been in rain several times in the past six weeks...we've had a wet winter...by Dubai standards. It's also been power washed a couple of times and so far no leakage issues that I've noticed.

No leaks on my G63 that I have noticed. It's been raining a lot here in New York. Where are the leaks located (front/rear, passenger/driver side)?

Nice to hear none of your cars have that problem. My best guess is the sunroof area, but who knows. Wonder why they have leak issues, though, as the roof design + sunroof appears to be the same since the beginning of time for the W463 body G Wagen (since early 90s).

bought a 2013 G500 last week in UAE . the parking mode doesnt work sometimes but is resolved when i open the door and close it again.
yesterday the engine shutdown but was fine once i turned the car on again . should i get worried ? the car has only a few hunderd kilometers on it .

It's under warranty, no harm in having your dealer connect the diagnostic computer and review any fault codes that may have been logged. Only the G63 has engine start/stop, so your car should not switch off by itself.

7k miles on my wife's G63,several trips in rain and snowstorms.
No issues whatsoever, beside being forced to put Winter tires ,since OEM are not All seasons like they used to be( G55) but Summer performance rubber.
Renntech tune done after 1k miles made it into an even more of a beast then before.
She absolutely loves it and threatens divorce at any mention of a new Range Rover....

They did all my AMGs since 2003 (first E55 Kompressor),as long as the factory doesn't know all repairs are under warranty.
Lost warranty only once in 2006 on SL65 because of a mistake by a new service advisor in front of MBNA technician on a visit.
ECU is a terrific and inexpensive performance upgrade on turbocharged cars in particular,I had the most dramatic difference in S600 TT ,SL65, S63 TT and the current G63 and CLS63 (this one has the R1 package-intercooler).
CLS stays with Italia at any speed with ease which I find mind boggling, family sedan after all....

I had a major leak in my G 63 from the sun roof running it through the car wash. MB Sweden couldn't find the problem and said it wouldn't be covered by warranty. Interior wash torn out and 6 weeks in the shop. / B

This is my issue. I don't want to have a brand new $150k car without warranty because of an ecu upgrade. The warranty in itself is probably worth $20-30k. I don't think it's worth the risk. I'm getting my car from Rallye on LI and the dealer said himself its not worth the risk. The question is does anyone really need a 650 horsepower SUV?

I have 2013 G63 and I have the same problem there is the diversion of water from the front doors of the car

2013 g63 800miles front driver seat started to squeak like it used to in my 1999 E430(dealer replaced lower seat frame on my e class) that's besides the hood sensors they replaced in the beginning.
