Mercedes G55 Aux Cord

Mercedes G55 Aux Cord
Hi everyone!
I own a 2008 Mercedes G55 AMG and I love it, but the only thing that bothers me is that there's no auxiliary input in it. I used to own an 03 model G55 and was able to hook up an aux cord I purchased from the dealer to the factory command unit, but this 08 model's pins are different so I don't know which one to connect the wire to. If any of you G owners can help me, it would be great!
Thanks,
M.K.

The 08 has a one off radio from a C class , it took me forever to figure it out.
The easiest solution is this . I used this in my 03 and it was brilliant. I also the use the
device in my 08 for bluetooth into the aux rather then the FM radio station. I dint care for
FM modulators but this one works reallllly well and there is a place for it to the left of your
steering wheel, its a round blank tab behind the wiper arm.

The proper connection is REALLY HARD TO FIND in an 08, my MBZ tech went through a pile of
COMAND connectors for AUX that were in a junk pile and scored by finding the 08 wiring diagram,
locating the pins in the back of the head unit and splicing and connecting them directly to the pins
in the back to use through the AUX tab on the head unit. I asked him a ton if he could find a part #
to help everyone with an 08 but to no avail because he spliced. Moral :the connection exists but go
backwards with C class radios to find it. Here is a picture if it help anyone.

resurrecting this thread, as this is something I want to do, but don't want to redo the factory radio setup.
One of the links is dead and the other has zero information on the item.

So...
Buy something like this:
Then buy this:
Plug both the audio plug and the micro-USB into the EarStudio ES100, and store it in the glove box.
Switch G-wagon audio input to Aux (I think that's the right input?).
Then connect your phone to the EarStudio ES100 via bluetooth, and be sure to connect using a high quality audio Bluetooth codec (ie. aptX or LDAC) on your phone.
Use the EarStudio ES100 app on your phone to EQ the audio.
Use your phone to play music and everything else.
Done.

So I did some research into this when I was exploring options for my 2005.
2002-2006 had the same head units.
2008 of course had a 1 off year shared with similar year C-class
2009-2013 had this last iteration.
So it looks like there is no place for a plug in MMI cable on the earlier cars. The only way, most likely, is as listed above by MPOW33R in post 3, to create a custom cable or to tap into the input wires directly. I tried looking through WIS for ANY information regarding the 2008 system and found literally nothing. There may be more info on WIS for the C-class but I haven't purchased that package.
Also, given the more complicated COMAND system on the 2008+ cars, it would be more complicated to replace the head unit with an aftermarket setup. My 2005 car had a fiber optic connection to the CD changer, but NOT to the amplifier. You can get around this by replacing the amplifier with an aftermarket one and splicing into the speaker output wires, but this is a much more involved setup and probably not worth the hassle just to add bluetooth if an FM modulator is working well enough.

Did some digging and found that the 2008 G55 shares a radio with a ~2004 C class with nav option. There is a simple AUX cable that plugs into the factory wiring harness for the C-class: I found info and some youtube videos on it by searching "C55 Aux input"
Becker Auto Sound LLC also has some info. They say that there is an aux cable that will fit the 2008 G. Would be good to ask them about it. Price is pretty low so worth a risk, you'll just have to find out where to plug in the 'white' connector as it will certainly not be in the same place as in the C-class (under the passanger door sill plate)

Here is their whole store.
