We've got about a dozen G-Wagon's in our gallery with the lift kit. Pick out a few favorites and I can send you high resolution images of them - https://wheelsboutique.com/gallery/m...cedes-g-class/

A 2" lift on these is a waste of money -

Do the 5" lift and you will never look back -

David has done more than a few of these

so you are talking to the right guy -

Thank-You

Hi, yeah the 71 E9 is my other baby. I'll upload a few onto flickr and post a link to it.
But here it is next to my G, looks tiny next to it. LOL
My 02 G500 is on stock suspension right now and H&R 31mm spacers.

Beautiful Bimmer. I'm a huge fan of BMW myself so I'd take that E9 in a heartbeat!

Let's get your G-Wagon off those humongous spacers and onto some safe aftermarket wheels that are custom built specifically for it.

Billet spacers that you bolt to the hubs then bolt the wheels on to are safe, atleast if they have steel threads.

Distronic plus inoperable

I just lifted my 2018 g wagon 550 4 inches and put 35s and mb 20x10 with 40 mm spacers. All works perfect and I love it. Didn’t have to correct caster or extend brake lines. But, my Distronic plus shows inoperable due to the larger tires. Does anyone know how to fix this or heard of the issue?

We have never had any issues with features being disabled after installation of our G-Wagon lift kit. I reckon your 4" lift isn't ours?

It’s not the lift it’s the larger wheel size and distronic plus

No it is not but it’s not the lift it’s the increased tire size. From my research most lift put on these are on older models. Could that be the reason I can’t find any info on this problem? I’ve talked to Mercedes techs and they say it’s programmed for the stock 275 s and the 35s throw the sensor off. I’ve even talked to outside shops that stated the same thing. Any thoughts?i have one shop with a 17 g squared and is going to pull the programming from it and see if he can by pass it. I’m a little nervous with that. I see that your kits are paired with 305s which are around 32 inch wheels. 275 came stock on mine so that’s why you don’t have that issue. I believe. Not a large enough increase.

The G63 below with our 5" lift kit & 35.5" Nitto's does not cause the issue you are experiencing. Same with all the other G-Wagon's we've done using that exact tire setup.

Weird. My lift was the coil springs shocks and steering stabilizer. What would be causing this? It works at low speeds but past 30 it says inoperable.

Brian, I had the exact same issue with my G63. Put a lift on it and had no problem when I was running 33” tires. Once I put on 35” tires I experienced the same problems that you’re having. Went back to 33” tires and the problem went away. It wasn’t the lift causing the issue, as I had the same lift while using both tire sizes, it was the tire size that was the issue. I was never able to find a fix.

G550 lift and distronic plus

Yea I’ve come to the conclusion that is definitely the issue after hours of research and talking to other g wagon owners and mechanics. I test drove a g squared 18 yesterday and it didn’t even have cruise control! That led me to research more and none of the g squared have cruise control or distronic plus. I even pulled the window stickers off new ones online: no cruise control. Guess I’ll go higher and say f it. I’m going to do 2 inch spacers and 37 nitto miud grapplers or kumho mud ventures. I like the height I’m at now though bc I can fit in most parking garages. I guess most people just don’t complain about the issue after lifting their g wagon and just ride it. It eased my nerves of lifting a six figure car and not having cruise control once I saw the g squared doesn’t even have it. They stated it’s because if it’s height as our lifted Gs. Funny thing though, when I first start my car If I drive and hit cruise before 20 mph and just adjust speed, it works. But as soon as I take it off it’s not going to work again until I restart the car. I take it that it’s taking time to register the larger tires and correcting.

Hi, I have a 2018 that I am putting 35" tires on. I heard about the issue with distronic but was told that while the distronic portion is disabled, I still have old fashioned cruise control. If I am understanding your issues, that is NOT the case and you have no cruise at all?
