Hi everyone.

I'm looking to order a G63, however as far as I know it comes with the "old" mercedes infotainment system. I would like the new one.
Should I wait for the facelift? Any idea when its supposed to come out? Will it update the infotainment? I don't wish to order a G63 and have the facelift come out 6 months after I get mine

The vehicle needs to be revealed first which it haven't been (highly possible that it is happening this year), but chip shortage, logistics and such delayed things for the new W206 C-Class, it took a whole year and more after the reveal to arrive to the MBUSA market, (not exactly fair comparison as the C-class is an entry level while the G-wagen is MB's cashcow as far as I heard)

The infotainment is likely to be updated to MBUX 2.0 also known as myMBUX (NTG 7.0) that first debuted on the W223 S-Class and W206 C-Class. The A-Class facelift got it but in horizontal form, the GLE facelift got it in horizontal form as well, although there is a possibility the G-wagen doesn't get it but I don't see why not though, there is that possibility of them saving it for the EQG but if the lower models got the updated infotainment I would be surprised the G-wagen facelift doesn't get it.

There are so many uncertainties so if you are getting a good deal on the current non-facelift one, get it otherwise if the infotainment of the current one is really a deal breaker then waiting might be your only option.

I heard multiple countries have a waiting list for the G-wagen in general, if you can get one right away (even though you don't like the infotainment but you really want a G-wagen) without waiting, you might want to do so.

There isn't really a shortage of G63's where I live, plenty to choose from. So I'm going to just look around for a color/interior combo I like

What are dealers asking relative to MSRP in your area?

 

20-30 seems to be the going rate these days around the NYC metro area

 

It's ridiculous how they still ask for these markups despite the amount of inventory out there. Every dealership in my area has inventory on these.

 

Interested in the facelift as well... want to buy 2 of them at as close to MSRP as possible. Anyone know any dealerships that will take deposits around that criteria? Thanks!

 

I guess they think people will pay for it... or in other words fall for it.

 

I have a G63 that is supposed to be arriving any day. My sales guy said he has no ETA outside of 6-8 weeks from the build date.
Does anyone know if and how I can track the car?

 

Only people who have access to that information will be your salesperson, or forum members here who has access to the system, you might be able to find forum members that work at dealers here to help you look but unless your salesperson is intentionally misleading you for whatever reason, that information provided should be the latest and/or most accurate.

The only other car I have ordered new was a Lamborghini. The sales guy wasn't much help either but I was able to figure out which ship my car was on to track when it was arriving at port. I was just wondering if the same goes for other car manufacturers.
I am trying to time when I will be picking it up as I travel often.

 

You are welcome. I mean I would expect them to have one of the better systems, given the price point, in terms of system letting you track I think Porsche and BMW does it well.
