Morning everyone. Just a warning about the backup sensors on the 2025, they don’t always work. This morning I was unlucky and backed into a damn wall like a moron. No beeping at all. Now my spare tire cover is bent and paint chipped off. Gotta buy a new one and pray they can match the dark olive green magno paint ! So angry at myself. Anyone ever experience this? Worried gonna cost a fortune!
I've repaired mine twice no problem with a friend who owns a paint shop. Carbon fiber is also an option on Ebay... I bought one as a spare and have yet to use it.
BTW I am an even bigger idiot: I knew there was a wall behind but I gauged the red line on the back up camera wrongly....twice in one year on my '22.

Oof things happen, thanks for chiming in hopefully that helps OP.
I took the piece off as I couldn’t stand to look at it. Now I just have a bare ugly spare. That piece is not as big of a deal as I thought. Appreciate all the feedback from everyone. Hoping can get new piece paint matched at a reasonable price! Gonna check how that carbon fiber piece would look, as may look great!
One last option, if you don't want to deal with this in the future, is to simply put a vinyl cover on the spare. I bought one to use while I repaired the metal cover.

Better the cover than the vehicle itself. It gave its life for the car!
Is there a key or something to unlatch the cover? I've never tried to take it off.
It twists open with a flathead screwdriver. Once the latch is open, you'll find a long flathead screw that is tensioned to latch the two ends of the band that sits behind the cover.
