cancelling tele-aid

Here's how I cancelled mine. I believe your initial contract you signed to initiate service says you must cancel in writing, so don't count on a phone call doing the trick...
Cancelling Tele-Aid Procedure
BTW, this thread points out that you will NOT get Tele-Aid error codes after cancelling the service. I've had no codes so far, and I cancelled the first of May.

How could you guys cancel Tele-Aid! Anytime I go somewhere, I always find a way to make good use of Tele-Aid, be it getting movie showtimes, finding out the hours of a resturant, etc.

I used it twice during the first year... each time to test the remote unlocking feature. That was all. I can afford it, but just don't see the value.
Of course, if I had a stableful of Mercedes-Benzes, and were less than half my current age, I obviously wouldn't care...

Is the alarm system notification and tracking part of tele-aid? I.e., even if you cancel tele-aid, will they still call you if the alarm starts and then track the car? That is the only part of tele-aid that I ever used. I'm thinking of cancelling tele-aid. Fortunately the credit-card I used when I signed up for tele-aid has been canceled, so when they tried to charge me for the extension (without asking me), the card bounced.
Now, wireless internet in the car -- that would be valuable on the other hand.

I'm not bashing on you, ahost, but it just reminds me that all of us here need to be sure we read the fine print and understand the rules before signing any contract. In the Tele-Aid contract there are at least three rules that others here have misunderstood, as well:
1) User must initiate cancellation
2) Cancellation must be in writing (not verbal)
3) Cancellation notice must be received 30-days before contract expiration.
RTFP, folks!
...I wouldn't have time to drive if I have the internet in my car.

I think that everyone's gotten too used to just signing everything that's put in front of them without thinking. Now, where did that organ donation form go to?
Having the internet in my car would probably force me to get an automatic. :p

But, MB-BOB, someone might jump in your window (ala TimmyC230Boy) and force you to drive somewhere -- then what would you do? :p

As my luck would have it the idiot wouldn't be as looped/genetically defective as Timmy's, and let me carry on a conversation with Tele-Aid without noticing.
So, I'd have to press auto-open on the passenger side window to distract him while I pull my pistol from under the seat, plug him, and roll him out the door before he got the interior messy.
Then I'd get out my CELL PHONE and report to the police.
Worse case, I'd have to spend 30 years in prison, compared with Timmy at 60+ years

Just cancelled my tele-aid over the phone. The gentlemen I spoke with says this "new" phone termination procedure is a new thing they have set up recently. We will see if my credit card gets charged next month however...
The best part of the conversation is when he asked me why I was canceling the service. I bluntly just said, "Because the aliens that abducted me told me to". All I got in return was a, "Um. OK".

I guess he had to add that to his telemarketing sheet and the super will have to come up with a response...
