Thanks Adam.

I know this has been asked before, but any chance of the S63/CL63 coming across the pond?

How about buying one over there and then bringing it back here and getting it certified and everything?? Will that work?

That is possible with any car really... And if you know what you are doing, it shouldn't be too costly as I have seen some elise for 10,000 usd over cost here down in florida...

Hey correct me if I am wrong but I heard the 2003 S55 AMG will have power in the mid 400 hp range!?? What I would do is wait till those showed up and try to get my hands on one of those!!

Cheers

someone here has one

I was in the Hamptons some time ago, and a S63 drove by me. Looked very different perhaps because it was a Euro spec'd car but it was sweet. Im not sure of the owner although I think it may have been Speilberg.

Renntech can do 63 conversion on the S600 and CL600, it costs about 40k. My dad is getting it on his S600.

But it's not the same!!

Haha, j/k. You know I couldn't rant negatively about a 40K upgrade!

Actually, it is the same... infact it is the exact same. Renntech orders the parts directly from AMG, and the parts used on the Renntech 63 conversion are the same exact AMG parts used on the actual 63.

Renntech

I read recently (I think it was in Mercedes Enthusiast) that one of the owners of Renntech was a master mechanic at AMG years ago. I think they are located somewhere in Florida and doing a booming business. This and Brabus seem to be the two after market tuners that are very closely connected to MB. Any info that anyone can share about Lorinser?

John, I bow in humble deference and stand corrected.

Haha. Seriously, didn't know that though. That's pretty spiffy, I mean ordering the parts from AMG.

Why so much cost then?

Vinman: Hartmut Feyhl, the sole owner of Renntech was the Technical Director of AMG and he invented some specific things for the AMG engines. You can read more about him, aswell as the rest of Renntech here: http://www.renntechmercedes.com/prof...y/history.html

Cjileong: Think of it this way, the S500 has a base price of 80k and the S55 has a base price of 100k. Well the S600 has a base price of 115k so the S63 SHOULD be about 20k more than the S600 which would bring it to 135k base price. But since you are special ordering the parts directly from AMG the price goes up, and then to make sure everything complies with DOT and all the other regulations, factor in a few more bucks, and since Renntech is one of only a select few who can offer this conversion, they will take a cut of it, so when it's all said and done you have spent roughly 20k over what it should cost... but for people who really want the 63 conversion, that is not a lot of money at all.
