If you had your choice between a 2001 CL55 AMG fully loaded, and a 2004 CLK55 AMG fully loaded wich would you take. If both cars had around 12k miles and were for the most part in the same shape and were going to cost the same amount.

Tough, but nice choices. The CL is a far better ride IMHO but will cost more to repair and insure (if that means anything to you).

nope, it's the normal coup, nota cabro. the cl has 28k miles and is an 01, and the clk has 12k miles and is an 04. the clk is also about 4k more expensive. so does that help in in narrowing the choices? 51k for the clk55 amg and 48k and some change for the 01 cl55 amg.

Which one has more warranty, the 04 CLK? Gotta believe the CL is one expensive car to fix...

I was in the same boat you were in a few months ago. I was looking for an 04 CLK500 and ended up with an 01 CL500. For me, I was getting more car with the CL and I have no regrets with my decision. Make sure you get a warranty though.

Definately the CLK55. I believe the '01 CL55's arent supercharged. I also like the look of the CLK a lot better. It is also very easy to drive if you drive around in an urban area, because the CLK is small you can zoom in and out of traffic. It also performs better, the CL is a boat. If you want comfort go with the CL, if you want a more sporty ride go with the CLK. But since the CLK has the warranty, especially the one with the free maintenance, I'd go with that.

I'd take the CLK - and it's a personal choice. None of them are cheap to repair no matter what anyone (or BMW) has to say. Ya just gotta like the looks.

You can get good deals on the CL's now, but I would wait for the 2007 to come out, i am sure the price will drop.

Just never liked the clk in general. The fact that it has "55" after it doesn't change my mind.

$51K for the CLK????? Way too expensive dude! 2003 CLK55's are going for $40-45K on Autotrader right now. I'm selling my 2003 CLK55 on auto trader right now for $43K with 22K miles. Maybe that should give you an idea what to pay for it.

as for which one to get...I would say the CLK would be sportier than the CL. CL is pretty big compared to the CLK.
