That factory is sweet looking. One thing about mb factories is the unique architecture. Have you guys seen the Brabus headquarters, and benz buildings in germany. Very cool. I am glad some of the design appeal has rubbed off here. BMW also has a beautiful facility in South Carolina.
Note to self, make a trip to bama' land in the winter. :-)

I can't say the same about the Renntech facility in South Florida, It's just a low budget warehouse.

You guys must visit EU and check out the Mercedes centres at rastatt, the factory at Stuttgart, New Mclaren head quarters, and well hate to say this but the BMW building in Munich is a hell of a building I believe it's made with modular floors or something like that!
and since it makes ML i always thought they were made in austria ? can someone correct me pls?

zaha hadid won the competition for another bmw center (forget the name exactly). but premiere architects designing some of these places are a good sign. perhaps, some of the dealerships can take a hint and stop building crappy showrooms.

what you see above is only a tiny part of the building...Here is another pic showing the entire complex...technology centre is large enough to hold 9 747 jets! Rectangular complex on the ritght is the wind tunnel.

DaimlerChrysler To Build New Mercedes Car In US In 04
DaimlerChrysler To Build New Mercedes Car In US In 04
DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
STUTTGART, Germany -- DaimlerChrysler AG (DCX) said Tuesday that its premium brand Mercedes-Benz will start building the new Grand Sports Tourer car late in 2004, expanding both its model lineup and its plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Mercedes-Benz will start selling the GST in the U.S. around the same time, the German-U.S. auto giant said in a press statement. The GST is aimed at the North American market, but also has sales potential in Europe, it added.
The GST is what industry watchers dub a crossover wagon. It fuses style elements of different vehicles - a touring car, station wagon, large-capacity vehicle and sport utility vehicle, DaimlerChrysler said.
DaimlerChrysler board member Juergen Hubbert told Dow Jones Newswires in March that Mercedes planned to build and sell the GST after showing it as a concept at the Detroit motor show in January.
Carmakers seeking the next big thing have started turning to crossovers as the market for SUVs and minivans has flooded with competition. Mercedes-Benz's U.S. sibling Chrysler is also due to launch such a truck-car hybrid, the Pacifica, in 2004.
DaimlerChrysler said it is expanding the Tuscaloosa facility ahead of the start of GST production. In 2000, it unveiled plans for an expansion there and a $600 million investment over the coming years, press spokeswoman Eva Guratzsch said at the company's Stuttgart headquarters.
Further details, including sales targets and sales price, aren't yet available, she said.
Mercedes-Benz also makes its M-Class sport utility vehicle in Tuscaloosa.
