Congrats on the c32
Quote: I'm 19 and I saved up enough money from age 13 working under the table, and recently attained a C32. Still have to pay monthy payments, but they are rather low. I always get looks from cops, and it is kind of annoying like "what are you looking at"? I once got tailed by a cop really bad, and I was consistently going the speed limit down a small street. Getting looks is probably for the car, and age we hold both. I get some of the most priceless looks from people. "No way that's a kid driving an AMG." Have fun with it, it's fun. I was thinking about tinting my windows, but decided not to because it's too fun when people see you and get jelous. Congrats on the 230!
Nice that you learned the value of a dollar at a young age. And yeah, the looks happen a lot, I don't have an AMG, but my c230 has the AMG rims, calipers and rotors, so it looks a lot better. Here in NY this one guy in my town who drives an E class saw me driving and waved....nobody waves in NY...nobody, haha...Haven't gotten tailgated by the cops yet...did get ridiculously tailgated yesterday by a dude in a red acura integra, coffee can exhaust. I couldn't even see the road in between my trunk and his hood. I let him pass, which made more noise than anything lol...

+1 for showing class. Getting tailed by junkers like that is hilarious lol. Him passing you means that he tried to show off but then later felt stupid, and lost his cool. I mean I never tail someone unless they truly are going way too slow. Even then I just kind of back off, and you just feel relaxed. I went to florida a couple weeks ago, and not even one person tailed me while I was pushing 20-30mph on streets. I do that here, I always get tailed. It sucks. DAMMIT BOSTON! lol

Yeah, and I tell you, the dude was getting me so mad...I slowed to about 50mph, dropped to 4th gear and took off. My parents were in front of me, so I wasn't gonna pass them, lol. He comes up again on my tail. So finally he passes, which takes forever, lol. Jumps in front of me, directly behind my parents, then pulls out again to pass them. Someone needs to go to driving school a.s.a.p. Oh, and the speed limit all along was 55mph...

BTW, I've got some friends in Lawrence, MA...

this thread is ridiculous.
1. Mercedes has just about the worst resale value of any of the luxury brands. A 2 year old S500 is about $35k.
2. Im about 95% sure that in most of these cases, the bank owns the cars that these people are talking so highly about. Paying $300/month for 72 months just to get your C class is just silly.
3. Most extremely rich people live pretty modestly. Warren Buffett is a great example.
4. I live in the NYC suburbs, my car cost less than a new civic, and I get absolutely zero attention or bs from anyone (Im 24).

The W210 isn't flashy compared to the newer W211.

the 211 isn't flashy either.

we aren't talking expensive cars here.

I mean, you can lease a brand new E350 sport for $570 a month, with like $3k down. Even with a crappy job, you can afford that.

Your 4 points, have nothing to do with the objective of this thread. It's entitled "Probs being a Young MB Driver".

I work at the New York Stock Exchange, draw your own conclusions.

However, I prefer to be smart with my money, so I bought the older AWD E class because it was easily affordable (I paid cash), it has navi, zenons, heated seats, etc, and because I like the interior better.

This thread has gotten so off-topic and ridiculous that the objective has gone out the window.

1) NYSE huh? Ok, give me some crayons and paper and I'll draw my own conclusions.

2) Be smart with your money and buy me some more crayons.

3) Umm...the thread went off topic when you gave your 2 cents. You should have been smart with your money and saved those 2 cents...

US>>UK try it here!! cos u havent got a chance!!
Ive read thru all of the obvious US replys, ill get back 2 the point,,, ive got family in the US and cos ur insurance system etc seems to be different to the uk, my cousin, who's in her late teens, drives a CLK 350 i think. All i have 2 say is, try insuring a decent MB over here wen ur under 25. You either have to be in the Times' 100 wealthyest or illegal. am i right in saying US insurance 4 young drivers is much cheaper?? i cant even get on my dads insurance without him needing to remorgage the house and sell the company!!

Insurance for younger drivers is supposed to be much, much higher than adults here as well.
