please leave your thoughts, everyone.

lets make this a good discussion. so here is the question:

who here likes the new look of the upcoming mercedes?

i know the CL will be coming out very soon. who here feels that Mercedes have totally ruined the CL? look at the current CL, no matter where you look, it looks amazing. i remember the first time seeing the car, i was so amazed and i fell it love with it right away.

look at the upcoming CL for instance. most people don't like it. the *** on the car is too big. this car pretty much look like a 2 door version of the S class. the rear of the car looks hideous imo. why in the world will mercedes put S class style headlamps? where are those oval ones? for those people who ordered and are liking the new CL, i apologize for this and i have no intension for offending you guys. i know cars is all personal preference.

most of the upcoming pictures i have seen (spy pic) of the other upcoming mercedes don't look that good. they pretty much look like a japanese car. i have nothing against japanese cars. but this is MERCEDES BENZ. mercedes is suppose to seperate itself from other car companies. i think mercedes have totally lost it's personality.

i never get sick of looking at the current CL or anything else. most of the current mercedes are real classics. i think when the upcoming facelift happens, i will cry because pretty much all the new cars look pretty bad in my opinion. the only reason why i will purchase an upcoming mercedes is simply because i love mercedes and i hate falling behind.

CAN I CONTACT MERCEDES BENZ HEADQUARTERS AND TELL THEM HOW UGLY THEIR NEW CARS ARE? I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO TELL THEM TO HIRE A NEW DESIGNER.

sorry if i offended anyone.

please discuss:

I really like the new designs. They look a little Japanese, oh well, guess what market they're trying to capture? I will admit that I will miss the elegance of the oval headlights and things like that, especially the W211 E-Class.

Ho hum

If a new design didn't take some getting used to it would not be an advancement.

Remember how all the BMW "purists" hated the new Bangle cars? They've set sales records.

I think before you make a judgment you have to see the car in person. I thought the new S class was very very ugly in the pictures until I saw it in person and it looks perfect.

You mean they look German? The Japanese have been copying the Germans forever so if the Germans try and copy the Japanese they are basically copying off themselves.

They look a little Japanese now. But I like it nonetheless. Look at an A8 and S550, and tell me which one looks more German (from the front end at least. Rear end, the S550 looks more German.). Be honest.

I love the current CL. Since it hits the streets in 1999 it was love at first site.

However, car styling is inevitably moving into the future...the new CL is awesome and in person will have a strong, imperial stance. Its big, long, yet sleek...basically a S coupe as it should be and I think those factory pics of the CL63 look INCREDIBLE.

Some poeple really hate the CLS, others love it. Its almost impossible to create a new look without having controversy. I would say the functionality of the rear seats, short doors, lack of head room and tiny windows in the CLS has a lot more complaints than will be caused by the new CL design.

IMO the new CL is going to be marked up and be HOT as hell on the streets here in LA.

I have 2 friends with brand new CLS's that will be trading for the new CL when it arrives. I would do the same. Its the flagship coupe my man.

I think it's the best looking car I've ever seen since the cls came out. Those lines just ooze power while keeping the luxury, whats not to like?

I hated them, then loved them, and now I'm starting to dislike them again. I don't think they will ever be considered to be a "classic" like the W220. Just a "one-off" (W221) to future enthusiasts... IMO...
