Yep. I know very little about cars. Especially when it comes to Mercedes Benz. I was wondering how may I learn car key terms and know about the many parts a car consists of? And overall things about Mercedes?

I like how there's such a big community here just for MBZ cars, and I love browsing around seeing everyone's modded cars. I'm hoping to get the CLK550 as my next car; I have my eyes set on that. For now I have a Cadillac Seville (89'), it's my first car and insurance on me would be pretty huge if I got a new benz at the moment.
Oh right, I did want to know. Are the W(with 3 numbers following) the actual models?

No those are the chassis codes. We normally call a model by that if we're talking specific generation.
For instance if we say just the CLK, we'll have to say model year too. That's just too complicated, so W208 (previous gen) or W209 (current gen) is good enough.
Did that make sense?

Another example w/ the S-class, which comes in many flavors, the current iteration is the W221 and the former is W220--but they are all S's.

Oh, thanks. That cleared up my question. And the model numbers i.e. CLK550 are supposed to indicate the liter of engine? Like I noticed the C350 has 3.5L and CLK550 has 5.5L.

Well the SC AMG engines are 5,439cc, same with the 55 engines found in the CLK and C class.
The 63 engine is 6258 CC.. Going by the rend they just round up.
The biturbo v12 in the s600 is 5,513cc
The 320 V6's are 3199CC so almost close to 3.2 liters lol.
The 350 motor used in the E350 and so on is 3498cc
The 500 motor is 4,966CC
Last of all the new 550 motor is 5461 cc.
