3rd Party Warrenty
..figure any electronics, die, lil bugs here and there. Let me kown what you suggest and how much you paid for it. Thanks.
you can take to any MB dealership or certified mechanic nationwide and includes towing and rental car. includes everything but oil changes, brake pads, scheduled maintence, and emmision system.
kind of a gamble, your car has so few miles you would think it would be fine. but you are right you might pay the cost of the plan in one or two trips to the mechanic. it is transferable though if you decide to sell the vehicle, which is a bonus.
i am just worried about unforseen stuff, like AC problems, elecrtical/computer problems, etc. i got my car checked by a mechanic before i bought it so i am pretty confident in the main systems.

from who?? maybe its bc the car is worth more than mine and has lower miles, but you think that would lessen the risk of something going wrong. seems fishy.
i would keep the 6500 and budget for repairs, but that is just me. 1600 seems doable to me since the car has pretty high mileage, especially with a 50 dollar deductible.
1. Purchase cost (I guess this is rather obvious).
2. Things not covered by the warranty (and related disputes).
3. The company going out of business before your warranty coverage is over.
Buying any car, especially used, involves an element of risk. You try to inspect the car as thoroughly as possible, but there are still some things you will miss.
An extended warranty may reduce the risk somewhat, but it adds its own additional risk factor. There is a reason these warranties are so controversial. A $6500 price tag should clearly rule out any warranty; however, $1600 may be worthwhile.
There really is not a "right" answer. Good luck.
