But then I received a different second issue, just as quality and glossy as the first.

Im my opinion the best Merceds related magazine now is Mercedes Enthusiast out of UK. This mag actually delivers very interesting stuff for both new and classic Benzes.
The Star magazine of the MBCA sucks also.
THere is also a new mag coming out this month. Prestige. www.benzmag.com It is US based. Will see how this one plays out. I heard that it may be interesting.

Not too bad, IMHO.
The mag seems to be getting thinner (both in size and in content), and the number of ads are creeping up, but they did compare/contrast Merz's with four competing brands of superchargers in them (and included the ****-star's profiles right along side em
)Just wanted to post an update on the Benzo thing.

And, since sex sells, they're hoping to increase circulation by including the "racier" items and to help broaden their target market.
I bought the subscription. I enjoy it when it arrives. I don't mind the inconsistency, knowing they're still trying to get on their feet.

That is not an excuse for a crappy content. They are obviously missing the point with their idea of Benzo lifstyle or whatever they want to push on the readers. I still did not get the new issue either.
I keep on comparing it to Mercedes Enthusiast because there is nothing else out there and I read ME from the first issue. First issue was great as was the second and the next and the next...etc
I just got the latest EA and red each and every article. Great magazine

Also go to their site www.benzomag.com and check out their Benzo Team, no one there has any mercedes related experience and they brag about this and that.
EA for expample uses writers who know their stuff and also listens to readers. I met one of the contributing writers of ME. He started contributing to the ME after he sent a letter to them with an idea for an article about diesel Mercedes cars in America and the fuel crunch of the 70s-80s, they responded to him and asked to try to write about it and if it's good they will print it. Not only did they print it but he now contributes quite often. His latest article was the one with the yellow 300sl roadster.

It looks like a very professional, avant-garde site relating to the magazine, with a lot of potential for future explosive growth.
This effort deserves applause; upstarts always go through an incubation period. Hopefully, MB quality decline will not adversely impact Benzo magazine.
Tnx
I never ordered and/or read the "hard" copy.
Just read in another thread that it generated into "hard-p..n". That's very unfortunate; however potential for greatness still exists.
