Anyone here live in NY state
Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone here lives in NY state, how do your cars perform in the snow? Especially the back wheel drive ones?

Yup! However I can't answer your question about how my car performs in the snow as I do not use it when the roads are white. I am told that with good snow tires they are tollerable, but with high performance tires, there would be little if any grip. The tread packs in instantly and the contact patch resembles that of slicks.

I live in the Lower Hudson Valley. Not too much snow this year but a bit. I got a set of dedicated rims with Pilot Alpins mounted because "you never know".
Anyway, it the one or two events we did have I had a great time driving in the white stuff. The car is amazing in it's ability to react and compensate for lack of traction and minor out ouf line incidents. It was a pleasure to drive in any condition and I am sure it would have done fine even if the conditions were worse.
Without a doubt the best car I have ever driven in the winter.

I live south of Buffalo and my E and CLK just couldn't take the snow. That is why I leased the ML last fall and I garaged my other 2 cars. I only take my E55 out when there is no snow out.

The CLK is my wife's car and she preferred not to drive it in the snow. During winter the weather gets unpredictable especially with the lake-effect-snow. We survived the first winter(2000) when we moved here in summer of 2000, although we have never lost control of our vehicles even in moderate snow days but we never felt secure. When the weather gets real bad,our activities became limited. This is why I leased the ML320 so I can get around. But I can tell you the ML will not be use much after the winter; it is my least favorite Benz and I may consider the BMW X3 next time.
