That Gullwing is sweet. What are the lease payments like?
As for the new 7 series.....I was at a BMW dealership this weekend, I must say that I was not very impressed with the styling.

I love the classic MB's, but out of all of them I would have to say the Gullwing is my favorite.

nice car, but...
...I prefer the 300 SL Roadster to the Gullwing. It can't be a 1967, it must be a 1957. Nice direct injection engine in those things, and a cool tubular space frame. It's a real racing car for the street, but the ventilation in the Roadster is adequate, compared to the claustrophobic gullwing.
Also, these cars have collapsed in value since the peak in about 1989, when a perfect one would sell for about $1 million. So $300 K is a steal, especially as some were restored for way more cost than that $300 K figure.

Anyway, in the late 80's classic car prices went though the roof (better than owning internet stocks in the late 90's).
Most of the classic Ferrari's of this period were selling for a fortune (well in excess of $1 million, I think I recall an old GTO going for around $2.3 million). Classic American muscle cars were also worth quite a bit, you could get $50 grand for a '67 Mustang completely restored with original parts. There were even companies selling copies of the bias-ply tires the cars came with for a more accurate restoration.
Then somebody realized that for years the only people that bought and maintained these things were true enthusiasts and that by pricing them out of the market there was no longer anyone who wanted to buy a million dollar classic car (or $50K Camaro). Then the prices dropped back to where they had been before the rampant speculation.
