Dealer Disconnected My Dashcam After I Dropped It Off
I had been using this dealer for service on my cars for over 10 years and this has never happened before. I feel this is shady but am wondering if this is common practice before I respond to the "how was your service" email I received from the dealership.
Do dealers normally disconnect a customer's camera - it feels wrong to me; they should not even be touching my camera. What are they trying to hide?
I am due for service on my AMG and now I feel hesitant to bring it there... do I have reason to be concerned?

I will just take the AMG to get an oil change and will WAIT for it to be done and tell them that no test driving and no disconnecting the dash cam!

I'm going to try to service my car at the other dealership in town and if that goes awry, I will have to find an independent Mercedes service garage. I found an awesome BMW garage (Sin City BMW) but they don't work on other German cars.

In Florida dash cams are legal, there are a few laws that COULD get in the way, at least in FL: windshield obstruction, electronic audio surveillance (I have my audio turned off), the ability to use footage in court ( could be helpful if your not at fault especially with your insurance company).
I guest the bottom line is check your state & county laws.

I hope so, too!
