Fair enough. Never stole a car, personally. But if I ever do, I will drive the thing like a granny. Speed limit, complete stops, turn signal indicators, etc.
Now, when I rent a car... well, let's just say that I like to... ahem... test it out.

That’s how the service department drives when you leave your car at the stealership.

Yes, the dealers are supposed to follow a stringent inspection process for CPO purposes, but let's face it, it only takes one unscrupulous tech or manager to look the other way.
Unfortunately, "CPO" really only means one thing: an extended warranty. Few, if any, of the "inspections" are actually performed and result in necessary repairs being performed.

Actually now that you mentioned it, I feel that is what you pay the PDI folks, to drive like that

Last Thursday I purchased a 24 CLE CPO from a MB Dealer 4 hours from home.
This Thursday the car went into the shop for serious lurching hesitation bucking acceleration and stalling issues. The car loses power. No dash warning lights whatsoever. It’s totally unsafe and not drivable.
Friday morning the car was serviced “ready” for pick up.
Service allegedly did a “Transmission Adaptation”. I drove the vehicle 2 lights from the dealer and broke down. The car is obviously back in service and as of now they have no clue as to what the issue is. I believe it’s major.
Would anyone from experience or legally know if I have any rights or recourse other than the Warranty/CPO? I would like to return the vehicle. I also traded in a vehicle. I reside in Florida. I have contacted the purchasing Mercedes dealership and have been given apologies but that’s all being told it’s warrantied. I have opened a case with Mercedes USA Customer Service.
Thank you in advance.

Update:
My CLE was returned from service today. This whole disaster as per MB was caused by an electrical issue specifically various ground/power connections/lugs had excess paint on them from the factory and started to cause poor electrical connections. This is a new one to me. Hopefully this is actually the cause. Will drive the car extensively this week to make certain the issues are in fact resolved. Thank you for all your kind comments and advice.

Wonder why there would be excess paint on a vehicle that was painted by a robot. Maybe the robot was suffering from a hangover from the night before?

Ha!!!
I had numerous questions on the issue that could NOT be answered. The Germans do make excellent beer so very possible. Or Schnaps!! So many unanswered questions on these vehicles.

I just don't know how the first owner did not literally just live in the dealership/service bay and how it ran for a while until the ground points deteriorated

I'm cautiously optimistic that your car is fixed, but I really do hope that it is

I have precisely the same questions and concerns. Regardless the situation is well documented should it need to go back in for service. Which will be the third time.

Ah ok; this is significant. Perhaps all the poor grounding destroyed the ECU internally.

crossing my fingers for you.

I bought a CPO 2020 S560 sedan which was still under the remainder of the original factory warranty. After several months, it developed a very harsh downshifting transmission. MBUSA bought it back from me. I’m in California and our Lemon Law is VERY weighted towards the consumer. I don’t know what the law is like in Florida. Anyway, best of luck to the OP.

Thank You…California does appear to have the best Lemon Laws.
