Exclamation Car and Driver - May 2006

Newest issue has a pretty descent review of the GL450 and estimates the base price at $55,000. I'll get it scanned and posted soon.

I didn't realize that the ML and GL shared the same front doors. Also, the 2nd row only flips forward for access to the 3rd row on the passenger side.

I figured that was the case since the buttons for power-folding the 3rd row seats are only on the passenger side as well.

Was it a full roadtest or just a preview article? Any mention as to why a GL550 isn't talked about for the U.S. market?

Maybe b/c the other seat is just too heavy to flip? Isnt it a 60/40 split? Also could be for safety reasons for entering and exiting, kinda like the old minivan's..

someone post...please

my C&D is NOT here yet...no word on the diesel i guess? my dealer says the ML320CDI is now in NetStar to be released for 2007 ordering in April/May. Didn't say when on delivery, but as i've stated before, can't imagine MB would release before Oct. when the mandated low-sulfur diesel is available everywhere...

I got my May issue on Thrs 3/23 and didn't read until over the weekend. It was a preview and not a full road test. They mention the diesel should be available by years end. I promise to have it posted later tonight. Sorry.

I am very interested in a diesel -- I think as interested as I am in an AMG version.

I agree, ClayJ

I could get anything in a performance version, but a new MB diesel in large-SUV form is totally intriguing. Especially if it drives like a unibody and not body-on-frame (should, shouldn't it?)...wish Car & Driver would mail all copies at once so that I got mine on time.

here we go. Car and Driver 2006. If it is not readable let me know and I'll post elsewhere. The crazy limitations of this forum make it hard.

Why limit yourself to just those two? I thought you were going to order 7 or 8 to add to your fleet! Why do you continue to even post here after being exposed as a liar and a fraud? Go find another forum to troll on.

Seemed like a fairly positive review....

Not too entirely sure about the accuracy of some of their statements, though.

Hard to tell with C&D these days.....

Juice it-
Following around any member, and posting shiznit about them off-topic as some sort of M.O. or campaign, is strictly verbotten -- and not germaine or helpful to the forums.... This is I think the fourth thread today in which you have done this. Ask BklynBenz, or any moderator, if this isn't clear enough or acceptable to you, coming from me.....

I'm confused about the topic (but it IS getting late). From the pics, it looks like both the 2nd and 3rd rows flip forward. What am I missing here...?

I'm referring to the 60% side (drivers) where the bottom flips up to gain access to the 3rd row. Only the passenger side does this. In the photo above you will notice the bottoms are still in place.

Look at the attached photo to see what I mean.

The most likely hypothesis other than this is how a certain age in America regularly treats each other in their social circle - and they have somehow confused me with their little brother....

I keep hoping that the moderators will step in - but they don't.

Sorry....

From the pics in the article, the profile of this looks too much like the Land Cruiser/Lexus LX. My brother is looking for an alternative to the family Tahoe and I told him to check this out.

ClayJ - Why would the mods step in? Moderators are here to ensure TOU compliance, not to babysit liars sitting in their double wide on a worthless plot of land in the middle of Missouri. My guess is that the mods are even getting sick of your lies and you crying foul whenver you get caught.

Because this - to the average person - or jury member - would quite obviously be correctly considered to be

You agree, through your use of the Discussion Forums, that you will not post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

a violation of the TOU. "Hey Clay - **** You" Is there any question?

Posts which are posted with the intent or purpose of being harassing, abusive, hateful - of which countless have been posted just in the last couple of days - quite simply appear to me, and I think to any average person, to be in violation of the TOU....

Laws without enforcement are worthless, agreements without compliance are worthless -- which is why the behavior continues.... Because it is allowed to.

You moron, you copied that from an entirely different thread to intentionally turn this one into a "ClayJ bashing"

Atleast we all know why you have so much time to spend online...

I could have copied in HUNDREDS of existing posts, current posts - NY C32 -- and that's the point: shouldn't be happening but rarely, should be stepped-on when it happens. Member should be reprimanded - or 'corrected' if you like - about what is, and is not, acceptable behavior in public, on this forums, and according to the agreed to TOU which the member read and agreed to before he ever posted his first post....

Just like you have to teach little children about what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior....

Obviously, this type of behavior is considered acceptable here....

But I don't think that it should be. It definately lessens my forums experience....

I don't want to get on anyone's bashing list, but I think it would be cool if threads like this could stay on topic. I, for one, am really interested in the upcoming GL.

Maybe certain other comments/concerns could be handled via PM, etc.

ClayJ- Since you are such an advocate of applicable laws; In accordance to the new cyber-stalking laws that were passed by the U.S. Senate on December 16, 2006, I order you to cease and desist: Do not acknowledge me and I will not acknowledge you. Why don't you take that order to your "attorney's" and see what they say you little cry baby because the next order will be for you to identify yourself and can be enforced (even though we all know where your mobile home sits now, who knows if you intend to move it before I pursue legal remedies to expose you)

PS- It's spelled L-E-S-S-O-N-S, you illiterate fool
