Bought the GL450 Premier Edition
Hello, all:
This is my second post to this forum. Just wanted to let you know I will be taking delivery of the first GL450 Premier Edition in Miami in about 3 weeks. Pics to follow.

I should have posted pictures yesterday so here they are. They are the official MB pics, not taken by me. I'll post some of those when I take delivery in a few weeks. For those curious, the Premier Edition has the following options:
4.6L V-8 engine with 335 horsepower
Obsidian Black exterior paint
Black Exclusive Nappa leather upholstery
Matte Burl Birch wood interior trim

I do wish Nappa was a stand-alone option as in the old days...instead of having to go with someone else's chosen "designo" combinations, which to me are almost always not the color combos i would choose.
My wife still has her 2000 Midnight E-wagon with Nappa Java leather and it is a rockin' good lookin' car!

Yeah...I saw this car at the local dealership and looks pretty nice...it is big and spacious however, I though getting to the third row sit was kind of difficult. I think the car looks very much like the ML inside, but outside is more square and the grill looks very much like the Toyota or Honda SUV...a small one...I really can't remember the name.

Yeah that is sweet, never heard of the premier edition before. I wonder does it take the place of a launch edition that they might have done with the GL?

I see the local dealer has a GL with a blank MBSUSA sticker in the window, I guess its the demo model. What is the official on-sale date for the GL?

Delay in my GL
I was getting really excited at the prospect of taking delivery of my new GL450 next week. When I made my original post to this thread, I was told it would be here in three weeks. Now I'm told it is being built and will arrive in about four weeks.
Disappointing to say the least, but what can I do? Hopefully it will be built well and will be worth the wait.

I think I saw one today...
I was driving and in the distance was the three pointed star on a SUV. So I'm sitting there thinking, yet another W164. When it got closer (it was driving towards me), I saw that the grill had only two strips of chrome...and that it was really...really BIG. I only had a few seconds to look at it in my side-view mirror before it left. Might not have been Premier Edition...the only detail I picked out was that it was a nice solid black.

I saw the EXACT, 100% identical GL450 at my dealer's service center (placed there so people could check it out)...the car looked AMAZING...with the 20" wheels and entertainment pkg etc...not to mention the black / black combo with the areas of chrome trim on the outside...I would absolutely get it over any other 7 seater SUV in market HANDS DOWN

Me too, but remember, as I posted on 4/27, I was told it would take a bit longer than I anticipated. I'm putting in a call to my sales rep today to see when my GL will arrive. I think it will be about one or two more weeks. More to come...

Seen quite a few sitting at dealers. if it was a runaway hit, I'd think they'd be in someone's hands. Dealers not going to tell you anything other than its a hot seller. If I could put down all the lies and BS dealers have said to me about vehicles it would fill a Tome.
