Fog Lights
Anyone figure out why some GLs have chrome around the fog lights whereas others are black?

Not yet. Its got to be part of one of the packages but which one? Off-road maybe?

Been looking for it as an accessory but can't find it. I would love to see that on a Black with the chrome door handle inserts.

Hmmmmm, pics of the Premier Edition don't even show the chrome on the foglights => https://mbworld.org/forums/gl-class-x164/144951-bought-gl450-premier-edition.html....and it even has extra external chrome options.....

i'm thinking it has to be the offroad package. i've seen cars with every other option/package and its still black. i'm waiting to hear back from my salesman.

check MBUSA, they updated the picture to show chrome on the foglights.

I picked up a GL book from the dealer. Almost every picture has the chrome; even the non P Edition, and the packages that do not include the off road package. So who knows???

maybe they ran out of black so they switched to chrome. heh. but seriously, ice cream for the first one to figure this out!

All I know is, I WANT CHROME
It's like those ML bumpers from 98-00...black when they should've been body-colored! Volvo still does it on the XC90...

Maybe it's like in E class, "elegance" (regular in US) version has black fog lights, and "avangarde" version (sport in US) has chrome around it.

Just left the dealer and saw a Premier Edition with the chrome. I don't know what determines which, but the chrome ones are oval and the black ones are round and smaller. It is not a chrome overlay. The lower section would have to be changed on both sides of the vehicle. You can order them as an accessory. Don't know the cost though.

just got info from salesman that the chrome bezel on the fog lights is part of the lighting package.
