Local Benz dealer claims only 700-750 Premier Editions will be made and the
running boards that come on the Premier Edition will not be available to purchase
without buying the Premier Edition.
Being a newbie is that MB's standard position? I have to believe that if you are in an accident that they will order running boards.

My local dealer told me that only 750 will be made and each dealer will get only one. I can't answer the second part for sure, but I'm confident that MB will have parts for all the cars it produces.

My salesman called down to the parts department and asked today while I was there. They are only showing the chrome tubular ones as being available at the moment. The parts guy had no clue if the PE boards would be sold as a seperate accessory.

The PE running boards should be available soon here in the US. I found the following from MB Canada. If not, then I will buy it in Canada.

There is 350 approximate dealers iin USA, thats more than one.

my dealer sold 2 PE's , mine should be here soon and they have another one coming in July that is sold......
