New GL Picture Web Site
I opened another web site today and think is it one of the nicest setups. The images are really well presented and with great quality. You have seen many of these shots of the GL but not all in one place in a slide show setup or individually in line. Enjoy...I do...

Thanks. I really like those couple of images on the parking deck. The softness of the sky and the black truck really makes for nice contrast. I have had a lot of complements on those shots.

I really like the look of the Black GL. Maybe it's your photography, but I'm starting think that the GL looks its best in black. Black was my first choice, but I lost to the S550, which also looks awesome in black. Since we couldn't have two black cars in the garage...

AMG Pedals arrived and installed...
Got my pedal kit this AM and installed them. A little tough on the brake pedal stretch to get it seated but with a small flat blade screwdriver I got it done. No comments on the need for a vacuuming...dealer wash yesterday only did the outside...
Looks very nice and added some needed shine to the interior...

NJ, pedal kit looks great. Did you install those over the existing or did you have to pull the old ones off first. If you had to remove the old ones, how did you do it? How difficult was it? Thanks.

Those look fantastic! I want to put that in my car.
By the way - you really should vacume your car... I am appalled.
Just kidding - of course
Happy Holidays to you my friend.

The Brake Pedal old one has to be removed. It just comes off by pulling on one edge until the lip releases and you continue until you pull it off. The new one is the most difficult one to put on. I started with the big upper right edge and then went around lifting the lip until I got the entire lip over the metal pedal base. I used a small screwdriver to pry the lip edge out and over the base metal.
The Parking Brake has a small plastic pin holding it in place. I just took some cutting pliers and snipped off the plastic clip and then it came off very easily. The new one goes on easily and you have to force the little rubber retained though the hole to anchor it to the metal base.
All in all pretty easy but a little squeezing into position to get it done. The brake pedal caused some expletives during install but once completed was worth the effort...:-)

The accelerator pedal only needs to have the new one slipped over the existing pedal. There is a rubber lip around the underside of the new items, you have to stretch fit this over the metal pedal base. It takes a little bit of effort to do this.

Although the black exterior looks spectacular on the GL, I'm not sure about the black interior, which is why I didn't fight harder for the Black/Black GL550 the dealer had on the lot when I bought my Pewter GL. To me, Black on Black is like driving in a coal mine . You also lose out on some of the nice two-tone work that MB does in the interior with their Brown/Tan variants.
The S550 looks awesome with the Cashemere interior color. It's a wonderful contrast to the black exterior, and it's not so bright that it washes out the interior. If the GL came with that color available I would've been all over it.
We walked through acres of lots until we found the S550 with the Cashmere. It was worth it .
