I gotta see this prop badge on your GL nish....from a distance that is to prevent the prop wash from getting mine dirty...
Nice pic in the sig nish...
STP: the enamel covers the entire badge but the pic is pretty accurate on how it looks in person.

Stumble, note that these pictures provide evidence that I did get out and did not die. Did freeze my hands off since I have no gloves which made me realize how nice a heated wheel must be. I did improvise and turned on the seat heaters and then sat on my hands to bring them back to life.
My favorite image of this set is below which is also in my sig. This is near the Grant tree which is to the left in the image. GL's nose is pointing dead straight at the tree. I did get some funny looks when people saw me taking pics of my car with the family inside. These trees provide a very unique perspective to meaning of life.
And this last shot is to show that GL can handle fresh powder. I saw this patch and drove straight in with wife, sis-in-law and kids in the car. Wife had a heart attack (almost). It was so much fun (driving in snow, not the almost heart attack part) and GL never missed a beat. My wife thought we were stuck for sure, at least 4 times, but I wasn't worried and had no reason to .

Nish,
The pics are awesome and I'm glad you went sledding with the GL. So much fun for sure!
When I saw your signature tonight, I thought there was snow on the trees, but I thought "No, must be sun" until I came into the pic thread. How in the world did the snow get plastered so high up in the trees? Do you know if they used some type of massive snow thrower to clear the road? I gotta say, that picture is really cool my friend!

GL at RedRock
Shot this about an hour ago...very windy with rain showers, clouds of every description, and the red rocks. Nice combination. Only shot one of the GL and this was it (HDR Image) and it turned out much better than expected. They were both shot on Calico Basin Road just before the park entrance. Have only 50 more in PS to look at...

Good grief, Jack, how do you consistantly make that 550 look nicer than the last picture? Granted, there's a lot to work with there, but it seems like each shot is better framed, better focused and better exposed than the last, and the last one was perfect to start with so ... wow!

Thanks patsy. One direction it way beautiful blue sky and nice clouds and the other direction it was grey, rain showers and just plain mean sky and clouds.

The amazing thing about Red Rock is it never looks the same, especially in the fall through spring. This latest batch of storms has put some light snow on some of the peaks and the clouds are great for pics.

You have to go see them to know what they are really like. No pics can do those majestic trees justice.

You can't believe how nasty it was there today...it looks calm and sedate but the wind was blowing 30mph with higher gusts and it would rain a little. It is a very nice place to spend time. The first post is an HDR image with 3 separate exposures and they have to be blended into one so the overlay has to be perfect. They are all HDR images but the GL is so prominent it would really show any movement in the blend phase. Handholding the camera with the wind I never thought it would turn out as well as it did.

Jack, I am a little unclear about your HDR program. Are you bracketing 3 shots and overlaying them or are you using layers in PS? Also, I would like to know what the program is called. The images are very striking and almost surreal. Also, what method do you use to set white balance?

White balance is set automatically in the Canon and then I use the auto in FDR also.
