2008 GL320
We bought our GL in St. Louis and my wife and her mom took a cross-country trip to drive it home in WA. First photo was taken from their room in Sedona, AZ. Second photo was our first mod!

Nice! I was thinking the same sort of thing to keep all the greenies outa my hair. We spend a lot of time in British Columbia and people always want to get into the fact that I must be from Alberta because I have an SUV. They don't care that I only drive about 7,000 miles a year and walk to work, quite frankly, I would be worried about the GL getting vandalised some of the places we go...

Nice! I was thinking the same sort of thing to keep all the greenies outa my hair. Great pix NvJ. The star looks GIGANTIC there.
The OB color looks like it really reflects the colors of the surroundings, or are those touched up?
I checked out a GL550 on the lot in Scottsdale last week, color OB, impressive. It was next to VB and a 450 in Black, so good comparison.
I was very surprised at how comfortable the seats are. Even the 3rd row was good. The driver's seat was comfy. (too comfy, salesman couldn't get me out of it)

I understand your reluctance to get out of the GL. I am extremely pleased with my GL550 and some people say I sleep in it... of course that is not true. Have a good one, I have to go fold my MB Blanket...:-)

Thanks del... the OB on the GL is not like the old OB I had on a 1998 E wagon. It has lost that dusty look and I think they must have added more black pigment. When in the sun and clean it really becomes a mirror. The images are pretty much natural with a few tweaks.
I understand your reluctance to get out of the GL. I am extremely pleased with my GL550 and some people say I sleep in it... of course that is not true. Have a good one, I have to go fold my MB Blanket...:-)

I don't know American plates that well, there must be a clue there, but based upon the trees, and the customised full size van, I would say that is Chicagoland, or Ohio.

I think there were Texas plates in the earlier photos which one of our super sleuths picked up on. I commented that the giant pine trees meant east Texas down as far south as Houston. I guessed Champions. He said no, but it definitely has to be the eastern half of Texas. There are the Lost Pines which is an area east of Austin, but no pines west.
Anyway, it is fun guessing. I would post my location any day, unless I was in some kind of relocation program.

Somewhere between Gaviston and Houston. My brother's best bud took a job down there, and he got a monster house just like that south of Houston. Houses look almost identical to the photo he sent my bro.
