I believe the GL550 will undergo a minor exterior update in 2011 inline with the changes to the GL350/450 in 2010. And all GLs will have the new corporate style mirrors which are more rectangular and have LED arrow turn indicators. The new M-class will be out for MY 2012/13 so the GL will probably be one to two years behind.

Offroading
Getting to this spot was kinda sporty, but it did it just well.
The 4Matic system also dealt smartly with the huge boulder in front of us there.

The look is very slick. And I love the first shot with the running light streak - looks like your GL's shooting out laser beams.

Apologize for the poor lighting and quality of pictures. The pictures were taken in the parking lot. Just got a few Carlsson items installed:
- Front lip
- Front Grill
- Rear Lip
- Exhaust tips
- Pedals
- Door Lock Knob
- Suspension lowering module
Thinking about some 22" rims.........

Where did you get the front and Rear lip? If I understand your post correctly, those are by carlsson? Ive been googling and all I see are articles about it - never anywhere to buy. Also, how much were they?
Your GL is the best looking one i've seen so far!

That looks excellent...and makes me realize what's missing from mine! I have the 2/11 Carlsson Brilliant Edition wheels on my GL550, but without the lowering and other Carlsson body aesthetics (like what you've got), I've felt like it's still a bit off. So, I think if you add a set of those wheels you will be pretty well SET!

My 2010 GL450 aka The Stealth
Stock for the most part w/
Navi
Backup Cam
Aux/iPod Integration
Entertainment System
3-Zone Climate Control
etc.
I learned a valuable lesson though
, when I bought 22" 8K HRE's for my '06 Volvo XC90. 1. Volvo keeps very little residual value, 2. Rims don't add much if any value to a vehilce. Traded the XC90 in for the GL450 quickly and never looked back!

Confused
Hi all,
I'm a newbie. I just purchased a 2007 Silver GL450 back in May. Got a great deal! It's fully loaded:parktonic, rear ent, illuminated door sills, ipod integration, etc and extremely low miles!
I ordered some wheels the other day for it to replace the stock 18s and now I'm starting to second guess myself. I think they may be too dark.
They are 20" amg replicas - titanium with a polished face. What do y'all think?

I don't want to share the vendor until I decide if I'll keep them or not. I haven't received them yet, but they should be here tomorrow. I did my research and they are some quality wheels. I paid $1400 for them but if they're too dark for my ride, I'll resell them to you with a discount if you're interested.
