I have to agree that the GL tows great! A little floaty over bumpy curves at highway speed (compared to my previous Tahoe with lower/stiffer springs and shocks) but otherwise goes, stops, and rides beautifully.
Finally had a chance to get it out with our 24' box trailer at roughly 5000lbs.

Love the way it tows! I did 8500km in the first 7 days I owned it. 4500km of it pulling an Outback 210rs. Great trip... Passed 18 wheelers going uphill through the Rockies (while towing).
Spent a night dry camping on top of big horn pass... I'm used to tenting so... getting up in the morning and having a shower was a real treat!

GL320 Carlsson tow package !!
2009 GL320 with the boat in tow. Boat is about 4000 pounds. I wouldn't even know it was there if it were not for all the thumbs up's!

They are (or were) up until the other day. Search GL Carlsson and you will find then. Around $800 each end. If they are not there look at completed items. You will find them. Mine has the Carlsson kick panels too in place of the running boards. Just installed Brembo too. Stops on .10 now.

How's that lowering modual working for you? I am looking to get one. I have the lowering links and I am going to install them tomorrow. I will take some pictures and post them. Bert

MBWorld Fanatic!
Is there a way to post pictures straight from an iPad or iPhone or I have to load them to my PC and than upload to thread? Got my HRE and flares installed and would love to show it on here

My new 2013 GL550
These pictures are pretty pathetic. But, I promised I'd post some after my presentation today so here you go.
I'll back it out and use a real camera next time.

Agreed. I was not sure what I wanted it before I bought it. Almost bought the BMW 750il with the M-sport package (very sweet car, btw). Went to check out the MBs and drove everything. I decided on the GL550 for the family and because it just felt so light and balanced for what it was. I just didn't feel I was really giving up anything. It's a really impressive machine.

Finally another Fresnan. Great looking choice, I'll look for you around the dealership. Would they work with you on price? I ordered the first 550 from MBZ Fresno and only got $2000.00 off MSRP, but didn't want to haggle in the big cities. 2008 model. Seriously considering GL63.

GL towing '68 Cougar
Here are a couple of photos of me towing my 1968 Cougar. Car weighs 3100lbs and trailer is 1660lbs. Tows great with plenty of power.
