07 GL450,
airmatic questions and concerns

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Gl with 2000 miles will pressurize and sometimes release air EVERY single time a door is opened when vehicle is parked, it will do this even if a door is reopened within a couple of minutes of the last door opening. The vehicle does not appear to sag or change level but the compressor runs each time. I went thru the 10 gl's on my dealers lot and none of them made a sound. The dealer has checked the car and proclaimed it to have nothing wrong.
What are your experiences with your GL's in regards to the airmatic operation? If you have had a simiular experience was any repairs or adjustments made by dealer that corrected this? Thanks to all who may have insight into this.

Depends where I'm going.
Normal for the GL and my wife's S500 does it also. Welcome to the world of air suspensions.

Does anyone know what that noise actually is, is it the car re-adjusting? My Jetta is sans airmatic so I was just curious

The suspension seems to depressurize on the corner of which door is opened from what I can tell. Its entirely normal though.
