Running Board Option 846

I received a response from MBUSA indicating the Code 846 Running Board Option on NetStar is the same as the Premier Edition running boards.

Here is the response:
Thank you for your internet inquiry.

The Running Board (option 846) is the same Running Board as equipped on the
Premier Edition GL-Class.

If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to e-mail us again
or call us at 1-800-FOR-MERCedes (1-800-367-6372).

Sincerely,

Surya B.

Jack, you are quite the fickle guy , jumping from the R bandwagon to the new S, and now the G...are you keeping the S at least? How could you not? If I recall you are a single older guy-i would think the S is perfectly reflective of you!

As I said in another post..."at my age you enjoy the moment." Six months with the W220 and a year with the W221...what more could a person ask for?

It is time to move on and try something else...always had wagons and several of them diesel and loved them. A fully loaded diesel GL and some scenic country roads in the west, my camera and good weather and I am off to enjoy. Oh and throw in a cross country jaunt to the east coast and a visit with family and friends and also with Jack and his GL in Mississippi on the way home. Sounds great doesn't it...:-)

Jack, I had no idea that you were in the market for a GL. Congrats on the pending purchase. Are you going to get it in Denver and what color? I think the white GLs are simply beautiful. I have thought about one myself. I am especially happy to see the running boards are available. I don't like the bars at all. Thanks for that info. Good luck with the new vehicle.

Yeah...I guess the cat is out of the bag...:-)

Deal will be with Greg in Denver. I liked the White but decided to go with Obsidian Black over Ash Leather. I have had two white cars in a row now and need a change. I had a '98 E wagon in Obsidian and liked it. We always liked the MB wagon/diesel combo and this will be a return to that kind of vehicle.

The S is absolutely the best MB I have ever owned and the ride is exceptional with the ABC...but I test drove the GL450 and the ride is surprisingly car-like. Will take a little adjustment without some of the S goodies but all in all the GL is a very nice car (truck...:-)

Thanks Jack, I just called the local dealer and they said that there is a shortage of them, and that there are 0 in Germany, and there are 175 pending orders for them. It may be a month or more before they'll have them again... anyone been able to find it at their dealer?

Jack, good luck. I think that will be a great color combo. I have heard that the 550 motor will available soon. Have you heard anything about it?

Nothing at all on the big V8. I would think it will be coming to the US but when is anybodies guess. A better choice for the GL I think would be the 420CDI...oodles of power and better mileage than the V8's.

You remind me of my neighbor. He went from a new TL, to a 330i, to a C240, to an E320 all in about 7 months. The E320 looks like a keeper though.

Congrats on the GL. Too bad black doesn't stand out as much as white in pictures. But knowing you, you can make anything happen when it comes to pictures.

Good to hear from ya! My fleet is getting old. I was about to trade in my W211 a few months ago for a 2007 BMW 650I but backed out. Haven't been lurking the MB forum during that time and it seems there are alot of new owners in the W211. Won't you miss the W221? The GL is a nice ride! Post some pics once you get it! Happy New Years!!!
