Trunk accent strip

Does the chrome (or polished stainless) strip along the top edge of the rear bumper just below the trunk lid come with an option package, as an accessory or what? I have seen it on some GL's and not others and I don't see it listed anywhere on the BYO or NetStar listings.

MB call this: SS Scratch Guard for Bumper Loading Sill

I am also looking for this, It protects the bumper while loading and unloading stuff from GL.

2007 ML350 w/ full AMG package
This may not apply to the GL, however many of the options are the same as the ML and with the ML the metal/chrome strip comes as part of the "Chrome Package". Now this is here in Germany so I'm not sure how it works over in the US....?

I would imagine that it comes with the appearance package since it looks similar to the chrome under the front and rear bumpers.

No mention of it in the Appearance Pkg. description and I have seen cars with the Appearance Pkg. and not have this strip. There is no Chrome Pkg. in the US per the above post so it must be an accessory but it is not listed in the catalogs.

I have my dealer trying to track the source and price down.

It would be interesting to know if anyone has it and does not have the appearance package or a PE addition. I have the appearance package but did not know anything about that strip when I ordered it. Just like I didn't know about the crossbars that come with the roof rack.

Depends where I'm going.
Are you referring to the chrome trim on the edge of the trunk base that has the actual latch or the bumper itself? If you are talking about the trunk lip, my PE came with it.

The bumper itself, not the chrome trim inside the trunk near the latch. Thanks...I am getting indications this bumper strip may be a EU option.
