How did the fix the rough downshift problem. I kown that the 7-speed had many issues when they launched it in the S-class.

May 2006, 11k miles....had 7 speed tranny warranty work done on it last week....I have a heavy foot and enjoy the surprising acceleration from such a big and heavy truck. Otherwise, no rattles, no wind noise...even with the Thule crossbars.

I plan on getting the MB Towing Package added in the near future...have it on order at the dealer. I am still surprised at the quality ride I get when I drive it.

Looking back at it...I made the best decision. My wife and I were set on purchasing a Rover and happened to decide to walk next door to the MB dealer when they were parking the newly released GL in their showroom...love at first site! It was an added bonus to see the accolades that this truck has recieved since I purchased it in May 06.

8 Months now and about 12K miles. I had the entire front left strut assembly and driver door seal replaced around 10k miles.

I have to take it in for these additional problems:
I now have 2k miles more after the strut was replaced and noticed the outer driver tire is completely worn out. It look like when they replaced the strut, they did a crappie alignment. I hope they replace the tires with new ones. The second pending problem is the steering wheel will not move up and down anymore, it only moves in and out.

I have had mine since the first week of release, have 18k miles and have had virtually NO problems. Regular service, that is all.
