Any word on whether yours came off the line on sched.? Called my dealer today and "their system is down" so they can't check right away......said they will call back later today..........this is like waiting for an elephant to give birth!!!

I got a call from my rep. He indicated my car went into production on Friday the 27th and should probably have a VIN assigned tomorrow sometime. He will call me tomorrow.

Uh? I had my VIN days ahead of my build date. Maybe even a week or more.

As I said sometime earlier.............there is a lot of "mystery, smoke and mirrors" in this whole process! Maybe these cars are just "figments of imagination." I think I'll "believe it when I see it" at this point......

The VIN is not assigned until all production is completed and the vehicle is ready for shipping. It may well be that your's was completed earlier than the date you were given by Ron. I sent you a blurb from the MBUSI site.

I tried to call my rep today to check on the status (yes, I am antsy) and found out he is on vacation until next Monday. I think all of us (and there seems to be several at this stage of the game) are sitting on pins and needles awaiting any word on our GL's.

I don't know how you all do it. All the waiting. I would have talked myself out of the purchase by now. Had to wait a week or so for mine and it killed me. Hey boxboss, do you think Memphis will do my service even though it was bought in Jackson. Haven't called yet to find out. Where did you buy at? I forgot.

Finally did the deal with MB of Memphis. They will service your GL, but you might not get a loaner. Of course, you will not get the TLC that selling dealers give their buyers

Quoting the voicemail left by SR today.........."your car was produced on the 30th and is now headed to the "port" for shipment" PORT? Maybe the MB codes don't differentiate between vehicles headed for train, truck and boat shipment. I certainly would be surprised if they shipped to PA via the Port of Mobile!

PORT=distribution center via train or car carrier

Although, MB does use Jacksonville for shipments to Europe. Not sure about other ports of departure.

Nope... In other forums that means I am in exactly the same situation as you... Or ... I agree with you completely, depending on the context.

In this case. I talked with my rep and he said it was still B3 and in production and that he would be checking every day and let me know when there was a change.
