Homelink antenna

Does anyone know where the Homelink antenna is on the GL?

Is it in the rearview mirror or is it in the rear glass or else where?

Thanks in advance.

My guess is the rearview mirror. I just know is stinks as well as the ML but not quite as bad.

Having problems programming? Roll down the windows and get under the opener. That is the only way I've had success programming mine.

Homelink works well for me.

I disagree, I had no problem programming mine and it works from 1/2 block away. It has as much range as my previous vehicle and more range than my wife's Lexus.

My ML works roughly 150 feet away. The GL? Maybe 30 feet, if that much. And I have to be facing the garage and not turning into the driveway. I live with it but its another annoyance.

Do you have 3 zone climate control? I believe this option with its window film tint reduces the transmission range of the home link signal.

I have 3 zone climate control option and was able to program the door opener without a problem. I do have to get closer to the door with my GL to get it to open than my other vehicles (BMW, etc.) but it is not a big issue for me.

I also have the 3-zone and had no problems...i think it may have something to do with the receiver on the garage door unit itself.

Nope. Works fine from a distance on the ML still. I used a handheld for a few days and it worked fine too. My afterschool sitter has one and she has no problems with hers either.

It is located in the mirror - same as the ML.

For the people who do not have problems with Homelink what brand or garage door opener do you have and where is the recevier actually located i.e. up high by the motor or lower by the wall button that you push to open the garage door from the inside?

Thanks
