Yeah.....I agree the angle IS too wide.....have had other vehicles with BU cams. and the angle is not so wide and therefore are little more useful. On the other hand, the clarity is beyond most that I have seen!

There is definitely a lot of sun reflection that comes off of the chrome/stainless plate but I have never had a problem with it blocking/interfering with the rearview camera. The reflection goes up to about the bottom of the license plate.

Like I said.....pry on it with your fingers a few times and pretty soon you'll get the feeling that...ok....this really will come off, particularly when you pull it back toward you as you pull it up.....the retaining clips are on the posts and the posts are what snap off one by one as you work your way across pulling up and back. If you get it off..........when you get ready to put the new one on DON"T put the tape on the ends of new one ..... stop about 1in. short of each end and none on the ends themselves. This allows the ends of the new one to sort of "settle" a little into the holes of the bumper on each end. It makes for a more "flush" fit.......but whatever you do get your lineup right the first time, practice a couple times with that tape liner on because when it goes down it's not coming back up! This all sounds worse than it is.................

I know

Thanks for the encouragement. I know someone had posted a link here earlier. Wondering what kind of double-sided tape did you use for the job. Is it something I could buy at Home depot ?

No.....it's available at any auto parts/ supply kind of place like Advance, Pep Boys, etc. It's called "body molding tape" made especially for sticking on logos, all the side body moldings you see on vehicles, chrome trim, etc. ... has a red flim on one side that you pull off when ready to go and the other side is bare sticky. About 1/2 wide. Find it in the body repair section and comes rolls of varying lengths.....I think I bought the 14ft. roll....way more than I needed......but who knows I may want to use it to hold my Prius together if it starts to fall apart

I believe that the MB rear camera is one of the best out there. I especially love how wide it is. The exterior mirrors and camera together provide best visibility that I have seen and rear Parktronic helps in tight situations.

Glare from Chrome bumper plate is an issue but it is not blinding. I see it appear as a shiny straight line only.

Before you sell it, let me give mine a try this weekend. I'll try to document what blittle experienced with photos. Mine doesn't have the clips removed...it's in the SR's office, so I'll be interested to see if it will lock on without the tape. We'll see....

Hi blittle, did you use the adhesion promoter on the surfaces before tape application or just tape?? I didn't and I think I should have. I'll re-do mine if it gets loose.

All I did was clean the bumper surface with rubbing alcohol.......adhesion promoter is not really necessary with this tape. I really don't think this is ever going to loosen up unless you go at it with a heat gun and fishline to break the bond. Mine does not move at all.

L8Apex helped me put my chrome bumper plate on with this body molding tape. That thing is stuck on there SOLID. Last Sunday my son hooked up his hands on the lip of the plate to hoist himself and jump in the back. Almost gave me a heart attack but I shouldn't have worried. The plate did not even budge.
