I find it too soft and wallowy. Why wouldn't MB offer the adjustable suspension as on the GL450?

I find the stock suspension mushy on my 450. Increased tire pressure to 35lbs all around which helped a bit.

The "Comfort / Sport" button is the Adaptive Damping Sysytem

Standard on the GL550
Optional on the GL450 (as part of the Enhanced Off-Road package)
Not available on the GL320 CDI (because the EORP is not available on the CDI)

Hope you are right about Adaptive Damping (I know, so far you've been right about everything else!). My dealer faxed me a spec sheet from the dealer ordering guide, and it was not listed under standard or optional features for the GL550. An oversight, probably.

E500 4Matic & GL450
Without the Sport mode, I find the ride on my GL450 is too soft at times. I set the Sport mode 90% of the time and it feels very solid. I had to wait for over 3 months to order this Off-road package just to have this option. I had to sacrifice the Appearance package because of this. I am still on 18" wheels.

GL Fahrer is indeed right. On my 550 order it is listed as code #214 - Adaptive Damping System.

Why can't you choose to have the Adaptive Damping System in the 320 in the US ?

Thanks in advance

Maybe I am spoiled

You guys should try coming from an LX470 to the GL320. Feels like going from ... I dunno ... a blimp to, like, a picnic table. Okay, so I'm not recovered enough from my long trip to be very funny, but you get the ideer.

I wrote to MBUSA when I ordered my GL320 and was send the usual "we know better" response. They indicated they do a lot of research and determine what features their cars should have and provide the very best to their customers. They also told me my request would be sent to the appropriate office for consideration in future models...uh huh...:-) There may be some restrictive mechanical reason for not having the ADSII as a single option on the GL, but it was available on the ML as a single option.
