GL550 "Unofficial Picture Thread"
How about an "unofficial" picture thread of the new GL550.
Here are the first new pics I have seen and I must say the beast looks like she's going to be a beauty. I didn't know that Barolo Red could look so good.
Personally, I love the face and am no longer worried about the over-sized logo, because it appears to be in proportion. I also love the 21" wheels.
This puppy is going to turn some heads.

This is a retouched photograph but my oh my...I am stunned!
The Barolo Red doesn't look that brilliant on the current models but on this rendition it looks terrific...
Wonder if I should take a closer look at this machine...
I note this is image "08 Side"...wonder if there are any other views the rep would make available to look at?

I saw the GL550 at NY Auto Show and it definitely was impressive and had obvious big curb appeal.. Didn't look like a GL450 which is less of a mammoth.. This is a definite Escalade-Like Big Pimpin Mobile!!!

SLine for GL
I wish they offered a SLine option like the Audi Q7 where they paint the plastic trim body color instead of that dull grey plastic. Like MEL did on his 450...it really looks great!

Does it look like the side mirrors are larger on the 550? May be just the way the pictures were taken but this was a complaint by many 450/320 owners.

I think it is the lighting on the 550 that is making it an optical illusion. GL Fahrer can confirm, but I think the mirrors are the same size.

The Barolo Red looks amazing, but I still don't like the huge front grille. I can live with the size, but I don't like the way it "dips" into the bumper like it does on the CRV. The look nothing alike, but I still can't help but think of it. 
The fender flares, skid plates, and wheels are sweet though!! Like NJ, it would be cool if they painted the lower valances as well. Anyone up for a Photoshop job?
