I wanted to start a thread on the 2008 GL320 CDI pricing and what people are paying and their experiences. I have a 2008 on order, which was ordered on 7/5/07 and should be delivered sometime in August. I wanted to see what others were able to negotiate on the GL320 CDI specifically - anyone getting any deal off of MSRP? If so how much? Any info would be greatly appreciated - the folks on this site are very educated and knowledgeable. Thanks!

Hi Wigwam,

I ordered a 2008 GL320 in April with a build date of 7/23, but my dealer notified me today that it is finished and should arrive in 3-5 days. I was able to negotiate MSRP minus 2K. I shopped all the dealers in a 275 miles radius and this was the best deal I could find. Here is my configuration if your interested.

2k off MSRP is not bad, I'm aiming $3ks. Why do you negotiate before the car arrives? Did you sign the contract already?
Interesting info. According to dealer my car was being built 2 weeks ago, and they expect delivery mid August.

I have been looking for a couple of days and the best so far is 2% off MSRP with no dealer fees...

I ordered my car two weeks ago and am paying $690 over invoice, weird number. Actually $500 over invoice and $190 administrative fee. Three MB dealers in town and reasonably competitive price-wise.

Stlduckhunter has struck a great deal on the GL320!! I would like to pay about $1500 over invoice, but actually expect to get about $2K off of MSRP.

Here is my configuration in NetStar (given to me before the new info on 2008's were released):

What is interesting is out on MBUSA.com when I build this configuration the tool adds 318: Full Leather Seating ($2,100) and also adds voice control ($510), which brings the total to $65,190. Since these are automatically added I am assuming that the P1 Premium package cannot be ordered without the Full Leather Seating Package - any ideas? Thanks!

I can't see leather being a requirment to get P1. I think the website is buggy.

It appears if you order P1, you also have to get the Leather Seating package and the Voice Control. However, if you order P2 you don't get the Leather Seating package or Voice Control????

Strange indeed but MB has been know for strange things on their BYO site.

As long as the web site is buggy and not the car. I'm getting out of a very buggy car that has a mind of its own, and am keeping my fingers crossed the GL will be a good car buying decision.
