I hope to have at least one of our GL550s by the time we meet in Las Vegas on Oct 26. I know the itinerary has been discussed, but is there room to add one more event to the weekend?
I was thinking we could sacrifice a virgin. The only problem would be trying to find a virgin in Las Vegas (with the obvious exception of NJ, and he won’t be attending).
Remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

I'm planning to have the final itinerary out today with all of the details, sans sacrificing ceremony. I hope this doesn't scare Nish away as he's the one bringing the kids.
If you get your 550 in time and want it detailed, our guy will do your vehicle over at the Rio late that night after dinner.

Guys (and gals), my motherboard has gone nipples skyward and I didn't print out a list of phone numbers, nor the itinerary. I had planned on doing it tonight with everything else (packing and so forth) but since I can't take care of the mobo until Monday, I was wondering if someone could shoot me the two docs and I could print them from the old laptop here?
P.S. Love the "nipples skyward" reference; my ex-husband was a pilot and used that term (although in other words!) frequently when things went FUBAR.

Holy Smokes
Okay... finally got to put my GL to the test today. Drove it through the rockies this morning to play golf in Grand Junction and then pointed it west to St. George, UT where I write tonight.
The GL is an amazing vehicle. For the first 50 miles or so, I left the suspension on auto pilot. Then I switched it to sport. Unbelievable! Never switched it back.
I couldn't believe how effortlessly this truck carried 3 men, their golf clubs and assorted baggage without breaking a sweat. 80mph in this thing feels like 55mph. 100 feels like 65mph. It wasn't until I hit 130mph that I finally felt as if I was going fast. CRAZY!!!
I ended up doing the majority of driving between 80mph and 100mph, just because it was so easy. Thank goodness for the Valentine 1 as well. Only saw a few bogeys today, but was certainly glad to have a bit of warning before blowing by them. As you can tell, I'm just a bit giddy tonight and so excited about my vehicle.
So, tomorrow mid-morning, I'm going to play some golf at The Ledges course here in St. George, before enjoying the remaining 120 miles into Vegas and getting ready for the big event.
Lastly, I was able to pull in an AM radio station from Denver (850) the entire way tonight and listened to the Rockies lose another game to the Red Sox. I remember listening to AM as a kid, but never have I been nearly 500 miles from home.

Their latest/greatest tech support came last night as I was traveling about 115mph past Green River, Utah... "turn the vehicle off and let's see if works when you turn it back on."
I told Raul that I was glad to see that he had graduated from the Dell Computer Technical Support School of offering idiotic solutions. I wasn't about to turn my GL off at that very moment.
Oh, by the way, when I did stop for gas and turned the GL off... Sirius didn't work any better when I turned it back on. Case Dismissed.

I'm in Vegas now and I'm looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow morning in Red Rock. I have a prior commitment tonight so I will not be able to attend the dinner. BTW, I put $200 on the Sox last night and will be picking up my $100 winnings later today!

We are on our way in the next hour. Looking forward to dinner tonight and drive tomorrorw.
S550 & GL 550 - what time did you leave this AM to get there so early? Or did you just drive real fast?

Red Rocks Time Change
S550 & GL550...
If you happen to see this post this morning, we've changed the meeting time to 10:30a from 9:30a.
Glad you could make it to Vegas, but I didn't bring your phone numbers to call you direct.
See you in a few hours.

So that folks on the forum know who is whom, here is a quick run down for you.
At the far end, right at the head of the table is StevethePilot and his wife to his left. Working counter clockwise from Steve is Newbie_2_MB and her husband Alan. BeanCounter is next in the white shirt, followed by Dodson in the green shirt. The empty seat was filled by our cameraman, WordSmith.
Front and center is oknish and his beautiful family. Next to Nish is a couple of Stumblefoot's friends, followed by the lead foot himself in the blazer. Note the sun-burned face. Oops! Forgot to put on sunblock yesterday.
We had a great meal last night and the company was just fantastic. We were all a little freaked out when a guy holding an ax appeared at the hostess stand. We thought it might be Waiting-4-550. But, ultimately, it was just the Bud Light guy doing a promotional stunt for AB. Whew!!!

GL450 (Alabaster White/Black Interior)
Okay here we go. These are a few of the pictures I took with my point and shoot. Nothing great but I am sure some better ones will be forth coming. A big thank you to Brian (Stumblefoot) for putting this all together. It was a great time and a great bunch of people. NJ send me a message when you get back and lets have lunch. FYI, there were three 550's, three 450's, and one 320 so a good representation for all. The 550's are really nice. I hope I can hold off the temptation for a few more years............I will do two posts with the pictures. The first picture is of STP doing a little off roading to start the day out right.
