19" Wheel Package

I see that what used to be called the Appearance Package is now the 19" Wheel Package. While the Appearance Package had 19" rims, crossbars and front and rear skid plates (I don't remember anything else), the new package called the 19" Wheel Package has these options listed under the description:

· 19" Wheels
· Stainless Steel Skid Plate & Black Crossbars
· All Seasons Tires

But if you click details, the following is shown on the pop-up:

2008 Packages
335 19" Wheel Package
This distinctive option includes AMG-styled front and rear bumpers, 19-inch 5-spoke wheels with all-season tires, and running boards.

Anyone else notice this change/inconsistency? What are AMG-styled front and rear bumpers for the GL? Does the Wheel Package also include the running boards? I see that the price of the package went from $1,100 in MY07 to $1,520 in MY08.

Is this another website mistake (Jack?).

GL Fahrer, care to weigh in?

I did the appearance pkg on my 07 and separately the factory running boards which were an additional $500. It looks like the running boards added some cost to the new pkg. which makes sense. I don't know what the AMG bumpers are except maybe the rear has the chrome scuff plate??

uh...the details portion is wrong. 19" wheel package is:
19" wheels
Front & Rear skid plates
Roof Rail crossbars (black)

Hmm, that is confusing. I guess MB made a typo, pretty sure that is wrong.

Fahrer - what can you do about a new webmaster for MBUSA.com? I can recommend some great people who can do more than copy/paste.

You might as well be asking a drunk fan in the parking lot of Soldier Field what's he gonna do about getting a new offensive coordinator for the Bears.

I'm just a humble Quality Control Analyst at the local soda cracker factory (Premium Division). "Thirteen holes...no more, no less".
Back in the fall of 1992, I was a Journeyman Flour Sifter in the struggling Oyster division when 17 gross of our product were prepared with baking powder instead of baking soda. These were then delivered to a local grocer in Greenwich, CT. Within two weeks, spontaneous abortions were being reported in record numbers. I was immediately promoted to the Quality department and haven't looked back since.

Thanks GL Fahrer, I thought that the details pop-up was wrong but could not understand why the jump in price by nearly 1/3.

talked to MB rep yesterday regarding 19" wheels Pkg.

MB rep confirms that the website is wrong the package should be same as in 07 models, i.e no running boards but cross bars are included.. have no clue what they mean by AMG bumpers.. first I thought maybe they switch bumpers to the ones they have on 550.. Not true...I recommend calling your dealer and have them build the car with this package and see what pricing your delaer comes up with. Sometimes I wonder, if they can't get their website right, what else are they messing up.. the car itself?? hmmm

Oh my gosh... those are my favorite crackers! Never liked the oyster ones.

BTW, how many grains of salt go on top of the cracker? What happens if any fall through the 13 holes? Do you reapply the missing grains?

Sorry Fahrer... I just couldn't resist!
