Michelin vs Continental

I noticed that all the 2008 on the dealer lots have Continental tires and not Michelin like on the 2007's. Anybody know if you can request Michelins when you order your GL?

Low bidder decides the tires...:-) I don't think that would be a workable deal when ordering.

You may want to talk to your dealer who may be willing to do a "take off" at delivery for your specific tire.

I have the 19's on my 07 GL320-i got Pirelli Scorpion Zeros. I have thought they are a bit loud-anybody particularly like their 19" Michelins (i have always put these on my cars b/c i think they are the quietest best handling combo out there.

I'm considering getting a set of Aldhenab(sp?) 19's and looking for a different tire.

Me too.....and I am actively looking for some replacement tires that will be more aggressive in the winter...........so far, not very much available in 265 X 60 18 in the load range 110 and speed rating H. The standard Conti. are not very good in snow much past the first 10K miles.

When I bought my GL in Jan 07, all GL's with 18's on the lot (about 12) had Michelins, 3 with 19's had Conti's. My experience with Conti's has been fine. My experience with Michelins has been better.

Michelin vs Continental

Not sure if you can get them from the dealer with Michelin's on it. When I was in Germany last month I checked out some GL's and I found that some of them had 19in Michelin's on them. When I got back I started to ask some questions at my dealership and found out that the Michelin Diamaris 4x4 is available for the GL in 19in.

That is just too funny, Dan and NJ.

Allright the pictures are of a GL that I saw in the MB showroom in Germany. I think I'll probably go with the Michelin's here soon when the Conti's are done on my GL which they don't seem to last too long just got over 21K miles and there's not to much tread left.
