Just got the call I've been waiting for. My truck is being prepped and I pick it up tomorrow AM. A couple of things worth mentioning. I had decided too late in the process that I wanted the lighted door sills. I asked now about dealer install and was quoted a grand. Decided to take a pass. They are installing blue tooth adapter which they say is needed to integrate phone with the MB system. $400. I had talked to them about a policy they are offering to cover damage to the wheels. New York and our infamous potholes....Originally he had quoted me a one time price of apx $700 but now he found out that AMG wheels demand a $995 price. I was considering at 7 but I'm not sure at 1K.

Don't buy the wheel insurance. I did and had 2 bent rims. They said the insurance was to only cover the wheel if completely useless. I would imagine if the wheel was bent beyond driveability the rest of the car would be in pretty bad shape too. Don't get it if you are just trying to protect yourself from small damage from pot-holes. I found out the hard way. Check the details and ask specific questions but this was my experience.

I never buy these warranties but after paying $484 for a single tire for my S that blew on I-40 near Knoxville, I am convinced this is a good deal. I ws lucky the wheel was untouched. If I had this type of road hazard policy I would have paid nothing.
I hate to see what one of these 21" 295/40 tires will cost in a must have situation. The price of a new AMG wheel will be off the wall. The Deluxe policy I have does not even address repair of the rim, only the tire is subject to repair limits of $40 dollars. The only cap on the rim is $5000 lifetime limit for replacements.
I realize Mobsteel that all of these things have their hidden flaws, but at least if I tear up a rim after a blowout, it will be pretty hard for them to escape replacement.

GL550 (on order), Ferrari 308GTS, Lexus LX470, Ford Explorer
Got Mine Also
Picked up the truck this AM and have been on a high all day. The Verde Brook changes color with the light. If you look closely at the metallic "flakes" it looks sort of like vegetable soup with a whole host of differant colors. A couple of qiuick comments....The running boards are stainless, The wheel flairs are done quite well, The radio sort of sucks but sounds a LOT better when you go to the Serius stations, The ride is neat. When in my wife's Lexus SUV you can't tell what kind of road your on as it dampers ALL and you just think your on a soft mattress. The 550 gives you road feel, you know when you hit a bump yet it remains super solid. I quess the "steamroller tires" ( what a cross section ) give you a good footprint. One little downer is the excessive glare/reflection in the windshield. Its all in your face, especially any trim on the top of the dashboard. I'm trying different seat heights to see if I can get around the situation. I'll be curious to hear if the black interiors suffer from the same problem. Next weekend I'm going to vist my Boston Daughter, 3.5 hours and I'll have a chance to get more "into" the truck. I took some pics...let me see if I can figure out how to send them. Well, I'm not having much. It keeps on saying "my upload failed" I'll have to figure this out

Great report! I thought the same thing about the reflections in the windshield but after a short time they become "invisible". I'll keep an eye out for you around Boston next week, that Verde Brook 550 will be impossible to miss! Good luck with the new ride!

Did you notice a difference in the Sport/Comfort modes as far as ride is concerned. Does it ride better in one or the other?

WOW!! That wide stance is so beautiful and the wheels really set it off nicely. I didn't like the big grille at first, but it's grown on me now.
IMO, these two pictures show off the stance nicest.

Great!
It really looks tremendous...as do the pics...
The black interior is so difficult to photograph and the blue tinted glass doesn't help.
Looks like you are ready for a nice weekend of showing it off...![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
PS...your S looks identical to mine...

In sport mode ,, it is defiantly tighter and much more sporty feeling.
good for those twisty's!!
You feel allot more of what your going over though(bumps etc.)
Comfort mode feels A little too to loose IMO
Good for mostly A straight stretch of road.
I have just been leavening her in auto mode and on rare occasion sport mode.
IN auto ,, the only thing i could compare it to, would be floating on air!!
Excellent ride............
I do happen to feel the bumps a bit more then my Range Rover though........
I guess that would be due to the difference in suspension between the two.
The Range being more of a off road machine then the Benz.

Great pix dsunnym1! It's a beautiful car. Maybe I should have ordered mine in Iridium Silver. The color realy shows off the lines. Love the grill.
